I've seen Ineson in quite a few things, from what I remember of him he's a good actor. I'm hoping the casting means we'll be getting something closer to the comics than the cloud thing we got in Rise of the Silver Surfer.

I've been a huge fan of Ralph Ineson's for years and casting that voice as Galactus is such excellent casting. I cannot wait!

Yeah, yeah, the John Malkovich news is exciting, too, but I'm seriously stoked to hear Ineson's take on Galactus.

I think we may have finally found the rarest thing in the universe; a piece of Marvel casting news that no one hates. Looking around the old interwebs even the right-wing tools who always complain about everything don't have anything bad to say about Ineson as Galactus.

I guarantee you've seen (or heard) him in lots of things even if you don't know his name.
Believe it or not, the only things I've seen that are on his IMDB page are Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars Episode 8. In both cases he was a background character with no dialogue.
EDIT: I saw part of Robin Hood but not much, probably not whatever part he was in.

i never heard of him.
Yup, never heard of him. I'm sure he will do just fine.

Not knowing anything about a person will do that.

And, even so, I don't see the reason to complain over casting choices.

I have a reason - Galactacus should be a giant swarm cloud, not a person!!!!!!

Hold true to the original incarnation in 2007!

I've always thought the idea of this ancient cosmic entity being just a 30-foot man in a funny hat with a "G" on his chest was utterly ridiculous, and the retcon that people only see an image of Galactus as their own species doesn't help much with the funny hat and the "G." I prefer the idea of a nonhumanoid Galactus, although there could certainly be a better way of doing it than just a cloud of particles. My idea is something like a sentient black hole encircled by some Kirbyesque technological construct with shapes suggestive of the funny hat and so forth.

That would be way more interesting and smart that just another CGI monster.

Okay, so this took me by surprise but apparently Ben Affleck is in talks to play the MCU version of...

....Dr Doom in the FF movies.

Wow.

Oh great, an actor so big that he'll probably never wear the mask, much less wear it all the time. Exactly what the character of Dr. Doom needs :sigh:

Seriously, Dr. Doom needs to keep his mask on almost as much as Judge Dredd does, and the 2000s FF movies couldn't even stand to hide the face of a C-List TV actor for more then two or three scenes combined over both movies. Even besides that, I don't know if Victor Von Doom hailing from Boston instead of Latveria is a great change (and Affleck is not an actor that can do accents, he can barely hide his old Boston accent, so it would be hard to buy him as coming from a Eastern European country).

This sounds like one of those rumors that ends up being just a rumor, but honestly Affleck as Doom would just be terrible casting in my opinion.
