You should watch Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The History of the world - Part 1, and Young Frankenstein ( written by Gene Wilder). Make sure you watch the outtakes if young frankenstein

And if you really want a laugh, you will avoid it like the plague! If you really want a laugh there is an Irish show called Mrs. Brown’s Boys
I never saw "Men in Tights", but I know it was co-written by Evan Chandler, the jealous father of Michael Jackson's first accuser, Jordan. Evan's main profession was dentistry, but he wanted to be a screenwriter, and asked for Michael's help. The allegations started when the latter refused, and after the settlement Jordan divorced himself from both his parents. "Men in Tights" was Evan's only screen credit, and after Michael died in 2009, Evan shot himself that November. I'm not mentioning this to derail the thread; just thought it might be partially relevant. You should watch Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The History of the world - Part 1, and Young Frankenstein ( written by Gene Wilder). I've said it in many places, but I don't remember if I've said it here - that movie was one of the absolute WORST experiences I've ever had at a theater. I hated it the first time through, and I haven't seen it again since.Battlefield Earth.
I like to put aside any of the surrounding issues with the movie, it's Scientology roots and all that and just enjoy it as a cheesy as hell sci-fi action movie.

When I want to see John Travolta ham his way through a scene, I watch Face/Off. After his role switches from hero to villain, you can tell he's having the time of his life. It's not a good movie. At all.
Despite that... I also enjoy it. Maybe because of that.
There's something about Travolta hamming it up dialed up to 11 while ALSO knowing that he actually, earnestly believes this entire thing is like... a factual event... adds something special to the movie.
My favorite "Travolta hamming it up in an otherwise so-so movie" is his turn in Oliver Stone's "Savages." Arguably the worst, most generic, movie Stone ever made. When I want to see John Travolta ham his way through a scene, I watch Face/Off. I know Oliver Stone has had a very extensive career, but the only film of his I ever saw was JFK. I thought it was passable, but not any kind of epic as some described it years ago. I did find out though, that he did a documentary follow-up in 2021, so I may check that out.My favorite "Travolta hamming it up in an otherwise so-so movie" is his turn in Oliver Stone's "Savages." I'd say his 80s period was his most solid and, in the 90s, "Natural Born Killers" is fascinating as "Proto-Tarantino" film.I know Oliver Stone has had a very extensive career, but the only film of his I ever saw was JFK. Well, most of what I saw listed in his filmography just didn't seem very appealing to me. My screen name still applies overall, but I've become much more selective, compared to my younger years. I'm only 43, but I sometimes feel much older.I'd say his 80s period was his most solid and, in the 90s, "Natural Born Killers" is fascinating as "Proto-Tarantino" film.
Amazing movies. Some of my favorites, and I heard a radio interview with Wilder about how he ended up with that movie. Him, Peter Boyle and Marty Feldman all had the same agent who called and asked if they wanted to work with Mel Brooks. You should watch Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The History of the world - Part 1, and Young Frankenstein ( written by Gene Wilder). I met him when I was in grad school, he gave a speech at my college. We shook hands.I know Oliver Stone has had a very extensive career, but the only film of his I ever saw was JFK. Battleship.
Much like the proverbial train wreck. I just can't not watch it when it's on.
Hopefully you have seen the show "Jack of All Trades." The opening scene is still one of my favorites, and its Campbell at his best.Anything with Bruce Campbell.
And I'm not just talking the classic like Evil Dead. No, I'm talking Man with the Screaming Brain, Alien Apocalypse, Bubba Ho-Tep, Moon Trap, Escape from L.A. levels of cheese.
Hell, I crossed an international border to go to his hometown premiere of My Name is Bruce.
Time and money well spent.
Of course! I've got it on DVD!Hopefully you have seen the show "Jack of All Trades." The opening scene is still one of my favorites, and its Campbell at his best.
I've never met any so-called "A-Listers", but I did go to conventions for about ten years, and met several people I respect that way. Also, computer animator and occasional director Bill Kroyer once gave a presentation to my college class, in 2002. Some of his most well-known projects include the original Tron, Ferngully, and The Green Mile.I met him when I was in grad school, he gave a speech at my college. We shook hands.
