Would a "How has Christianity informed Star Trek?" thread be possible in GTD, or would it instead have to go in the "hot button political debate" section?
I really like what ChatGPT came up with - their overall impression of my video is pretty accurate. I'll have to do more research on them. Not the OP, but I asked ChatGPT to summarize it.

Yet.
Just be careful not to use what it writes for anything academic, or you might find yourself in hot water for plagiarism.I really like what ChatGPT came up with - their overall impression of my video is pretty accurate. I'll have to do more research on them.![]()

Oh, don't worry - I'm far from being any kind of "career academic". I do like reading, but its been tough the last few years, for me to slow my mind down and appropriately focus.Just be careful not to use what it writes for anything academic, or you might find yourself in hot water for plagiarism.
Well, evidently a few people were smart enough, to put their collective intelligence together and build this thing. Technology is a great development; we just have to exercise responsibility when using it. A fair bit of apprehension wouldn't necessarily hurt, either.People do find it useful to distill down several related but disparate ideas into a thesis statement and organize thoughts.
This is the General Trek discussion forum, debates are the reason for its existence. If you do not want a debate I will put this thread to bed.No rudeness meant on my part, but I believe you misunderstood my intent. I didn't post this video to start a debate, so if that's what you're after, I suggest you look elsewhere.
Makes sense. Internet isn't real life and we can't have nice things and all... Threads in this subforum don't tend to survive long vs in the series specific ones...That is an excellent question. The answer is a two-parter.
On one hand, yes that would be an appropriate topic for this forum.
On the other, having been on the staff here for the better part of 20 years, I can tell you it always devolves from there into arguments about religion itself, which is not an appropriate topic for this forum.
Religion has been part of Trek since the beginning. Mentioned in TOS, TNG, DS9 was built around religion.
