Spoilers ALL of season 2 online NOW in French!!

Do you know what they said?

On Reddit, u/zachotule joked that "this is Geneviève Bujold’s revenge."

This X post by Trek Central has attracted impotent rage from fanboys hilariously demanding that no one discuss this.
I haven't seen the tweet itself (apparently it was taken down quickly), but from what others wrote on twitter it seems they asked not to make it public, I suppose aimed at such sites like Trekmovie. The tweet must have been placed well after this thread was started.

The Hagemans concern is understandable and no one in this thread wants to jeopardise a possible continuation, but I suspect France2 does have broadcast rights as of now because it was negotiated that way.

Of course they do. How else would it have simultaneously appeared on multiple major streaming services in France if they didn't have the rights? Apple, Canal, and the French government obviously haven't decided to sail the high seas, and accidentally releasing it a bit early isn't an issue (though the simultaneous release on multiple platforms suggests it wasn't actually a mistake).

A mistake is possible, it happened even to nickelodeon or p+ with some episodes of Prodigy s1. But if it was too early (contractually), it would likely have been taken down already.

Those other broadcasters, including apple TV, only makes that more likely. Though I wonder if they have rights on france2s catalogue by some agreement, or if Paramount sells to multiple broadcasters in the same country, in the case of France at least.

Ahh, the Tumblr people in action...

Most likely these rights predate Paramount+ offloading the episodes to Netflix in the US and other markets. If I remember correctly, didn't some season 1 episodes air early in like Croatia? If the original plan held, season 2 should have began airing in late 2023.

The timing is a little specific in any case: it's the last week of Q1 2024.

I hope Netflix moves fast.
I figured they were waiting for Christmas 2024, but with this French thing, that's a big blow.
I don't want spoilers but feel they'll almost be inevitable.
It's only been 3 months they've had Season One.
During that time I rewatched all of season one on the Netflix platform.
I'm hoping it's sooner than Christmas.

I wonder if it’s “legal” for Memory Alpha to create content about Le Season Deux now?

For selfish reasons, I hope they decide not to, because I'm very spoiler-adverse and don't want to be worried about accidentally seeing something any time I go to MA.

Interestingly, I believe our own spoiler rules state six months from whenever something first airs/drops anywhere in the world, so I guess that clock is now ticking.

Le Season Deux

Sorry for being pedantic, but I believe saison is feminine. :)

I'm just going to watch it and enjoy it myself, but I will say the sheer amount of joy seeing the crew again makes me wish more people could experience it. I'm not finished yet, but honestly I think this will bump TNG as my favourite Star Trek show, but I assume anyone in the Prodigy sub forum will end up watching it anyway so there's no need for proselytizing.

Incidentally, the French cast is really good and it honestly just feels like maybe the universal translator is broken and they're all suddenly speaking French. lol
