Anyone still build models?

Really loving the color palette and patterns you're using that seems to be unique to the Ambassador. Nicely done!
Yeah, the Ambassador does seem to be unique in that it's so blue. I gotta wonder what was the reasoning behind that? No other Starfleet ship, that I can remember, is coloured so differently from the rest of the Fleet. At least in the prime timeline. Even the Cerritos, with it's mission colours, isn't nearly as colourful. Closest competitor would be the Shenzhou, with its red details.

The DS9 Frankenfleet had some pretty bilious colors as well. The original (Buckner) Centaur, Yeager, Jupp and a number of the other kitbashes had deep-bright blues, oranges, tans and gold highlights.

The space dock interior in The Search for Spock made an impact...the lighting gave the ships a lovely cast of blue.

Nice ship here

Progress marches on. Little more paint on the upper saucer before moving on to window scratching, light placement, and then final assembly. To be followed by clear coating, decal placement, more clear coating, weathering, and finally another final clear coat...... Maybe it'll be done this month.

~ Maybe the Ambassador-class was painted with mission colours too? And the few that we've seen have all been science ships?

Anyway, your model is coming along really well. You have far more patience than I with such things! :bolian:

The Ambassador class is without a doubt one of the best looking ships in Star Trek and I would kill for a lit-up model like that.
Build one! And don't say you can't, because 2 years ago, I couldn't either!

I'm old school - Testors and Tamiya were always my favorites. The latter was great for reproducing mil-spec colors.

Generally whatever I can find cheap in a rattle can for a base and then Testors since I can remember. Just started experimenting with Apple Barrel recently on my Hawk.
