Never played the game (barely heard of it), but the trailer does look promising and the inclusion of Walton Goggins in a dual role, Ella Purnell (Gwyn!), Michael Emerson, and Sarita Choudhury certainly helps pique my interest.
Pretty standard for Ghouls in Fallout.Actually, from what I've read, I believe Walter Goggins is playing the same character just in two different periods. A while back EW.com did a fairly in depth article about the show, and I believe they said his character has been around since the apocalypse first happened, and we'll see him in both the present and in flashbacks to the beginning of apocalypse.
Which is why I said a dual role. Same character, different roles because different time periods and circumstances.Actually, from what I've read, I believe Walter Goggins is playing the same character just in two different periods. I hope so. The contrast us really interesting in the games. The games always have a bit of backstory from before the bombs fell, and this seems to be an attempt to do that. The entire tutorial/ first part of the game in Fallout 4 takes place in an idyllic neighbourhood before the community is shepherded into a vault. If I had to guess, with a TV show version of Fallout, they'll be able to show more of the period before the bombs fell and go back and forth between the two to offer a bit of contrast.

Ghouls are generally misunderstood in the games with a stigma associated with them, so they often hide out of sight. Seeing as the Ghoul in this show used to be a highly-placed executive, that makes for an interesting dynamic. As a drifter, he's going to know where the vaults are that he used to design.
Things to know from the games:
Caps (as in bottle caps) are currency. This is referenced in a scene in the trailer.
Nuka Cola is the drink of choice. There was real-world version of this produced back when Fallout 4 was released, I believe. I wouldn't put it past Amazon to bring it back for a cross-promotion.
Yup.
Yeah, I read the schedule change in a couple of the trades. Wonder what prompted it? Anyways, looks like all 8 episodes of the first season will be available when it drops...Fallout will be arriving on April 10 at 6 p.m. Pacific, 9 p.m. Eastern.
Ghouls are healed by radiation.I hope that the ghouls are more grounded in reality. There is an infamous quest in Fallout 4 in which the player character has to get a ghoul kid out of a refrigerator and get him back to his parents. This kid got himself trapped in the refrigerator when the bombs fell, centuries before Fallout 4, and managed to survive without food or water.
