but like reading a book before going to see a movie adaptation
That's what an adaptation is-it means to change.which is okay, but them changing stuff isn't.

Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman actually said the exact same thing in response to the people who complained about The Walking Dead TV show changing things from the comics. "If they left things the same, you'd be complaining the TV series is pointless since it doesn't offer anything new the comics didn't already provide."Let's face it, if a movie was the same as the book people would still complain
Good movie.. but like reading a book before going to see a movie adaptation .. you miss what they cut out.. which is okay, but them changing stuff isn't.
No Leto
No Allia
Boo.
They did do great on Pauls.. well.. Cowardace .. he knew if he went south billions would die. But he also knew what he had to do to save humanity and he choked. He wanted freedom but fate had a big F U to that.
And if they wanted to show an alien planet could have made Gedi Prime orbit a red dwarf sun. Show a tidal locked planet with mostly infared animals and plants.
For me the whole "Love Story" between Paul and Channi was.. well wasn't.. She was just kinda there, helping, but she has a huge chip on her shoulder with the "Prophacy" and Pauls place in it, and she NEVER took Pauls side, you could see him Trying to not be this person until it was not an option, and Channi boo hoo'd and ran.et me ask you this - what is the long term story purpose of Leto, Pauls' and Chanis' son? What impact does it have on the larger story other than causing pain to Paul and Chani and to show Sardaukar mean business.
Did we need to see that?would have shown the Sardaukar being ruthless.
How are people feeling about the decision to make us all outsiders watching Paul, and not seeing his visions at all post water of life/hardly at all pre?
I thought it was a unique perspective, that also allows an additional level of ambiguity over what is happening.
Again, another choice I personally would not have made, but one that works well for this movie.
Dune: Awakening "is set on Arrakis and takes inspiration from both Frank Herbert's novels and Denis Villeneuve's Academy Award-winning film while exploring exciting new possibilities in the franchise."

Oh boy.. this flew completely under my radar, possibly because i'm really not into MMO's but apart from state of the art technology used in the game this looked like crap and a cash in that doesn't take care to be faithful to the source.
Translation: We took a beloved book series and a very successful movie to make money and we don't care too much about the peculiarities of the source because we will invent crap that was never in either the books or the movies.
I didn't really see that child as important. Paul had more than enough motivation already and we know the other side are pretty brutal. For me the whole "Love Story" between Paul and Channi was.. well wasn't.. She was just kinda there, helping, but she has a huge chip on her shoulder with the "Prophacy" and Pauls place in it, and she NEVER took Pauls side, you could see him Trying to not be this person until it was not an option, and Channi boo hoo'd and ran.
A child would have shown there love towards each other, and exactly, would have shown the Sardaukar being ruthless.
As much as I liked Part 1, Part 2 has just found me wanting..
Though I did like Jessica using her DON'T QUESTION IT VAAKO voice on Channi.
