I do wonder after the dust settles and we've watched all of the released episodes, if we'll ever get to know what was originally planned. Also: a pretty solid indication that the retooling was sorely needed.
Not anytime soon I'll bet. Marvel and Disney tend to keep such things very close to the chest.I do wonder after the dust settles and we've watched all of the released episodes, if we'll ever get to know what was originally planned.
I hated the ending. Very sexist.
As much as I would love that to be the case, and even though Marvel does love going back to the Blip's conclusion, I somehow doubt we'll get that based on the grounded nature. On the other hand, I didn't expect Hawkeye to feature a flashback to The Avengers so I guess anything is possible. How long do we think it'll be until we see a semi-retcon/flashback showing one or more of the Defenders summoned to the Endgame battle?
Who I want to return first: Colleen and Misty for Daughters of the Dragon.Frank, Foggy & Karen aside; who's more likely to show up next? Jessica, Luke, Colleen Wing or Claire Temple? (No Danny, not you.)
I've wondered the same ever since Matt's appearance on her show. I'm very curious to seen that work. What are the odds of Jennifer Walters showing up in one of these more (for lack of a better term) mature shows, and can they manage to pull off the shift in tone without compromising her character, as they did so well with Matt?
True, although we did eventually find out about the original plan for Iron Man 3 with Maya as the main villain before Ike Perlmutter forced them to rewrite it. I'm pretty sure that's not the only example (such as the bigger point about Thor in the cave during Age of Ultron). Not anytime soon I'll bet. Wasn't there some talk awhile back about Henwick trying for some other role in the MCU movies?
Yup, she was up for either Shang-Chi and The Matrix Resurrections and she chose the latter. Source.Wasn't there some talk awhile back about Henwick trying for some other role in the MCU movies?
I’m in that minority tooYeah, that's not a surprise, unfortunately. I loved every moment of the season but I know I'm in the minority, alas.
The real question is where the hell did that $225,000,000.00 go?

From what I've read online months back it was said that Karen and Foggy were killed off screen by Fisk and that somehow tied into the plot. We wouldn't see Daredevil in a suit until episode 4 and there was a heavy focus on courtroom drama.I do wonder after the dust settles and we've watched all of the released episodes, if we'll ever get to know what was originally planned.
Fair points. Like I said, I would love to be wrong.Whats the point of bringing in the Netflix shows if they stay in their boring "grounded" universe (and its kind of funny calling it grounded when the Netflix shows climax'd in fighting over some unrealistically deep hole to...hell? Or whatever the fuck The Hand were doing with the hole, its been years since I watched Defenders)? If they're in the MCU, they need to be in the MCU. That doesn't mean that they have to show up for all the superhero stuff, especially the ones that aren't really heroes like Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, but they still need to be in the world with more then just brief references. That means that the Blip would have effected them, and one or two of them has probably caught the attention of other heroes or people like Nick Fury over the years.
The Punisher is already confirmed for Born Again. I still think it's pretty likely we'll see Jessica and Luke sooner than later.Of course I doubt any of the Netflix heroes except Daredevil and maybe The Punisher are actually going to show up and do more things in the MCU, so I suppose saying the shows are canon but that the stories are done keeps the other characters off in their own corner by default.
Yeah, I've seen that rumor and that's just awful. While I would love to see more courtroom drama, it shouldn't come at the expense of the core cast. From what I've read online months back it was said that Karen and Foggy were killed off screen by Fisk and that somehow tied into the plot. I think there was a Variety article last fall about how a lot of it came to mismanagement by Fiege.
Hey I'm not claiming it's a good idea, or even one I particularly want to see; I'm mostly curious how far they're going to go with making everyone know how totally canon all that is now.As much as I would love that to be the case, and even though Marvel does love going back to the Blip's conclusion, I somehow doubt we'll get that based on the grounded nature. I tend to agree Jessica is the more likely to be next up, if only because it makes more sense. She's easily the most popular and recognisable of the bunch after Daredevil (Luke being a close third IMO), and given her vocation the easiest to slot into almost any other show for a cameo re-introduction.Who I want to return first: Colleen and Misty for Daughters of the Dragon.
Who I think will return first: Either Jessica or Luke.
On the positive side; I think Maslany's performance was well received enough that the character can still pop up elsewhere, either in shows or movies.Yeah, that's not a surprise, unfortunately. I loved every moment of the season but I know I'm in the minority, alas.
Generally speaking; budget overruns on these kinds of productions usually stems from pushing the production into overtime. Overtime is expensive; potentially the greatest expenditure on any production. Going over for just a week can mean you've blown a month's budget but may only have a few days worth of work to show for it. Not only does this mean you're also the best part of a week behind, but as a bonus; unless the release date can be moved, you've just massively cut into available post production time too.The real question is where the hell did that $225,000,000.00 go?
