NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

I know fans celebrate these firings, unfortunately there are a lot of people who have just had their worlds' turned upside-down.
It's tough when you don't really see them as people. They are a world apart, as it were.

Hope they figure stuff out.

Rivera got a raw deal in Carolina, but ultimately escaped from a tyrant. Only to join up with another tyrant who then sold the team. But this time the writing on the wall was there. This time he really had to go.

Sources are saying the Commanders have already reached out to Lions OC Ben Johnson, Lions DC Aaron Glenn, Ravens DC Mike MacDonald, Ravens DL coach Anthony Weaver, Rams DC Raheem Morris and are also interested in Jim Harbaugh.

I get what I can for Fields and move on. That is just watching Jordan Love’s development this year. Fields fooled me last year.

I wonder if Atlanta would be interested in Fields. Fields has shown potential, and the weapons are there, not to mention they are getting a new head coach that will most definitely use said weapons. It seems like that might be a good match to light a fuse under Fields career and get guys like Robinson, London, and Pitts going.

I think it depends largely on who ends up with the head coach job. Though I have my doubts about anyone being able to unlock Fields potential. He is a great runner, but some of his passing yesterday reminded me of Bobby Douglass. I’m not sure a modern NFL team can survive with that type of inconsistent passer.

When I was watching yesterday’s game, when it was 14-6, it felt like the Bears had already lost. Fields simply wasn’t capable of dropping it in the bucket in critical situations like Love did.

Not all of it is Fields fault, but he’s starting to look like a bust. He never feels like he is capable of taking over a game with his arm.

I do hope I’m wrong. Fields seems like a hard worker and likable person.

After finishing the season 1-5 and missing the playoffs, the Jags fire DC Mike Caldwell, the DL coach, the CB coach, the ILB coach, the S coach, a senior defensive assistant and two quality control coaches.

Should have fired some people on the offensive side as well.

New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen expects to retain his job for the 2024-25 season. There are no rumblings to contradict this.

Now to see if he can get the locker room back under control after Sunday's mutiny.

Jameis Winston clashes with reporters over ‘disrespectful’ decision to ignore Saints coach and score garbage-time touchdown
Unsurprisingly, Winston could not articulate why disregarding the coach's instructions to put on a selfish, unsportsmanlike display was a bad thing beyond a pretzel logic chorus of "the end justified the means." Perhaps it's time for Jameis to be shown the door.

I liked Mike Vrabel when he was with Houston, and I thought he did a good job in Tennessee. He'll land somewhere else soon enough. He's a good coach.

Jags fire the running back and assistant offensive line coaches.

Guess they couldn’t fire the offensive coordinator.

Yeah I have no idea what Titans brass are thinking with this. Are they hoping to drive a dump truck of money up to Jim Harbaugh's house?

Vrabel won't be out of work long. Bad, bad call by the Titans, IMO.

My guess the issue with Vrabel is that he and the new GM weren't on the same page, and Vrabel had also made some really, really bad calls when it came to coordinators.

The "we wanted to trade him, but it would take too much time" bullshit Amy Adams Strunk said in her statement basically screams that she wanted to move on and get one of the hot candidates rather than trade him to the Patriots.

Oh yeah, no question there about the coordinators. Even so, ugh. After the turnstile of coaches before Vrabel we really needed stability.

Yep, desperation. No way to build a long-term contender.

Bears fire Luke Getsy and the QB coach. Could've sworn on Sunday, the TV crew were telling me how great Getsy was and how much progress Justin Fields has made...

I think they're lining up to take Caleb Williams.

The Chicago Bears are opening another critical offseason by keeping head coach Matt Eberflus and making cuts to their staff.
Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko were fired, according to a Wednesday report from Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert and running backs coach Omar Young were let go as well, Courtney Cronin of ESPN added.
TBH, the D did get consistently better, where the O was still up and down and Getsy had the Nagy tendency to run some stupid shit plays when they only needed a few yards.

Still, a new offense for Fields can't be good for his development, such as it is.
