How would you re-imagine and reboot Enterprise?

It made me happy to see an NX Refit in the starfleet museum in Picard S3. As far as re-imagining things go, I'm preferring the idea that TATV never happened, and was just a weird 24th century holodeck adventure. The ship in the museum is the actual NX-01 Enterprise in its Romulan War refit config.
It was barely something to see.

I want a series set in the lost era of the early Fed.

Bring Cristopher Bennet's quadrant-spanning political thriller to life!
Wake me up inside (save me)
Call my name and save me from the dark (wake me up)
Bid my blood to run (I can't wake up)
Before I come undone (save me)
Save me from the nothing I've become

Would love to see Trip to have survived the events of TATV and him commanding his own starship. Everytime he was in command of the Enterprise he was cool calm and collected.

Well, since this is a thread for re-imagining, I for one am totally interested in retconning the Thing. I know it won't happen in real life, but it makes me feel better to speculate on the eleventy billion ways it could have been written better. Back in the day I hung out at an ENT site that had an entire subgenre of "Finale Fix" fanfiction.

Unfortunately that ship has sailed. Nobody in charge is interested in retconning TATV.

Its been discussed in the SNW forums as how to do that. As special episodes that SNW could do.

It could get a retcon, as a “Trials and Tribble-ations” kind of episode. With Pike as Chef, M’Benga as MACO Riker, and Una as Troi. And if they go the The Good that Men Do route, have Conner Trinneer as he is today (ie.e don't de-age him) in a Romulan disguise.

With the 60th anniversary coming up, and they'll want to do something special, never say never.

I don’t see any of that happening. The best thing we would get is voice acting from Bakula, Trineer, etc. in an episode of Lower Decks, and if it’s anything like the DS9 episode they did, it would be quite underwhelming.

I need to see the NX Refit in it’s proper glory.
I'd be willing to bet that recreating the interior of the NX-01 would cost even more than the bridge of the Enterprise-D, so you can probably nix any kinda story where we go aboard her, at least in live action. Best you can hope for is either something from the animated series, or perhaps a flyby of her at the Fleet Museum.

Maybe the Enterprise from SNW can be her escort on a 100th anniversary of the Federation goodwill tour. Last I remember, SNW was up to around 2259 or 2260. Anniversary of both the Federation and the retirement of the NX-01 is coming up.

As would I.

…which is why you do a “Trial and Tribble-ations” type of episode to help retcon the finale.

Don’t have to rebuild the interiors of the ship. Just show the exterior. Which we can do now that to PIC S3.

And back to my original comment. Nobody is interested in retconning TATV. Like it or not (and believe me, I hate it), TATV is ENT’s series finale, and happened exactly as we saw it on screen.

Matalas and Blass just wanted to show the NX-01 at the Starfleet Museum with Drexler’s secondary hull. It was by no means some hint that they wanted to retcon TATV. No, they want to make Legacy, a PIC spinoff, not an ENT spinoff. And both ideas have about as much chance of happening.

Of course I realize that this topic is about how one would reimagine and reboot ENT, so I’m not going to say any more about the reality of that.

There was a time where it was ridiculed that the NX Refit would never be seen in Trek. Then it appeared in PIC S3.

And it was often suggested that no one from ENT would ever return. Very Short Treks episode "Holograms All The Way Down" proved them wrong too.

So, if there is a possibly that TATV will be retconned in the future in a “Trials and Tibble-ations” kind of story, it probably will be. Who known, maybe they'll weave a bit of "Holograms All The Way Down" into the episode too.

I’m not sure I follow your logic on this and am not sure if you’re kidding or not. Because if you seriously think there’s a chance in hell they’d waste something like a special anniversary episode to revisit “These Are The Voyages” of all episodes, then that has to be one of the more outlandish things I read in quite a while. What producer in their right mind would spend their budget on revisiting and celebrating one of the most universally reviled episodes of Trek? I’ve been dumbfounded by decisions made by Trek productions before, but I refuse to believe any one of them would ever go there.

the could have a historian working for the federation explaining that it was a romulan ploy to fake the federation's historical documents

The mere fact that TATV is a holodeck program, proves that it's not "like it or not". I see no reason to take anything in it as read.
i just pretent it doesn't exist

I'd love to see a flashback in SNW of a scene from the Romulan War.

Say the Enterprise finds a lost battlefield and the wreckage of a Earth/Romulan ship.

a booby trapped romulan wreck that then blows up and takes two dozens of redshirts with it - they're getting way too soft on them lately
