And speaking of Seven...I can understand why she wouldn't have any connection to her human name but latching on to the name given to her by her abusers was a weird choice. It would be like if Kunta Kinte wanted people to call him "Toby."
Thank you.

-And speaking of Seven, I thought it was odd to have a subplot where she prefers her Borg name to her human name. Does anybody know if Jennifer Lien ever managed to clean up her life?I think it was the genesis for why she was cast, replacing a very compelling character, to me, Kes. There was so much that show could've done with her IMO

Google lists that some of the reasons she was let go was:
1) Lack of fan interest in her character at the time
2) IRL Personal Mental Health & Drug Addiction issues.
I know she was married to Phil Hwang & had a son named Jonah, apparently she retired from acting all together when her son was born. But she's gotten into all sorts of trouble since retiring.
I hope she doesn't have anymore encounters with the law as well and I hope she gets her life back on track. While Lynx is dubious of its countenance, I find the explanation proffered in the Voyager Celebration pictorial hardcover (published 3 years ago) to be pretty compelling.
Briefly, it quotes cast and management citing contentions never mentioned before, which seem very plausible, if not likely. Briefly, Lien's growing unreliability on-set as the 3rd season's production schedule played out, due to behavioral problems (perhaps enhanced by substance abuse) and her absolute refusal to take advantage of professional help the showrunners were only too willing to offer. According to this account, it wasn't until the 4th season actually got underway a determination was reluctantly reached that the situation had become untenable, leading to Lien being fired, as opposed to simply being released because her initial 3 year contract had expired.
I haven't seen any news reports of Lien having further interactions with law enforcement since late 2018. I neither know her or track her activities, but it appears pretty clear it's been many years since the relationship with her husband and children was effectively severed and she still lives in the same part of Tennessee (close by to her parents) as has been the case for over a decade. Even if not engaged in work or activities which might hold genuine meaning, perhaps instead, just getting by, one can hope this person who was extraordinarily gifted in her craft, is at least living in relative peace and contentment, free from strife coming from any quarter.
