In addition to a bigger paycheck than he had for Star Wars and a guaranteed lead role where he'd actually get to do something? He's getting into film producing now, so they could offer him his pick of any three original projects he wants to do next, in front of or behind the camera.

Boyega has made it clear he's not interested. Maybe he's playing hardball, but I doubt it.

I think a lot of potential candidates for the role won't want to be associated with a character that has been tainted by this particular scandal.

I wasn't overly fond of Kang, and for the guy who's supposed to be the next big Marvel villain it sure wasn't a good look that he got his ass kicked by Ant Man and The Wasp

Hoping they move in a new direction rather than recast
To be fair, that was just one variant, and I wouldn't be surprised if there were more powerful variants out there. And as for The Conqurer, it's worth keeping in mind that when Scott & Co. ran into him, he was exiled to the Quantum Realm and relied on just what he could get together there. I have a feeling he'd be a much bigger threat with the whole multiverse at his disposal, and the movie itself pretty much establishes that itself, since he refers to multiple encounters with multiple Avengers teams, and he obviously survived them all, and managed to kill multiple Avengers in the process.
I really hope they don't dump Kang as their big bad, I've enjoyed what they've set up, and I'd really like to see how they plan to bring it all together with Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.

Maybe the best thing to do is just slow down the payoff of the Kang setup rather than cancel it -- give it 2-3 years for the bad associations to fade so people can just focus on it as a story (with the role being recast, of course). Which could also give them time to refine the writing and make sure the story arc's as good as it can be.

You can kill dogs and be welcomed back to the NFL.

Just don't kneel during the national anthem.

Quantumania should have ended with Kang achieving some sort of victory and Wasp (possibly with Ant-Man) captured and escaping from the Quantum realm with them. The end credits scene could have had that version of Kang as head of the council.

Now, of course Kang's next appearance could open using the same footage we already saw at the end of Ant-Man and then having the entire room full of Kang's killed by the new variant of Kang played by the new actor.

Hasn't been a good year for Marvel at all.
I hope they just recast. Not because I love Kang but they've probably had a lot of stuff planned out with Kang already. I don't think they could just drop the character without the marvel universe getting even messier. They might as well go in a different direction with the character. Cast someone older like Denzel Washington.

Marvel Studios already have the best actor to play Kang, but he's contracted to star in the Blade movie. That movie hasn't even started filming yet, so there is no reason why Mahershala Ali couldn't just take over as Kang and Marvel gets someone else to play Blade.

The article doesn't say what you claim, unless I misunderstood you:

Variety has reported that Marvel executives, led by studio chief Kevin Feige, discussed the possibility of having to pivot away from Kang to focus on another major villain. Now, with Majors’ departure official, Feige and his team have some formidable creative decisions ahead, including whether to recast a new actor as Kang or cancel “The Kang Dynasty” outright and reconfigure the remainder of the Multiverse Saga. The interconnected nature of the Marvel Cinematic Universe means that whatever Marvel decides to do could have some pricey repercussions, at a time when its parent company, Disney, has entered a far more cost-conscious era.

My choice of actors for the new baddie in MCU.

1) John Boyega. He can act and i do believe that he deserve better than how he got treated in the last two star wars that he was in.

2) The Brit who played the high evolutionary in the last guardian of the galaxy movie. In my opinon, Chukwudi Iwuji is a far more accomplished and experienced actor than Majors. If anyone can pull off playing a major multi movie MCU villain, it is this actor.

3) if we are going to bring Doctor Doom into the MCU, Toby Kebbell should also be considered. I really like him as an actor. He is versatile. I really liked his role as Doctor Doom in the last F4 movie. He should reprise the role again for the MCU. He plays villains really well and his vast experience in playing the antagonist in many movies, makes him the ideal actor to play the next Thanos like baddie.

There has been some speculation that Marvel might not be able to recast the character due to some contract clause. Which means they'd have no choice but to go in another direction.

If we're allowed to choose someone who has already played a main MCU character, I'd personally love to see Chiwetel Ejiofor as Kang.

But it's a multiverse, and there are an infinite number of Avengers, so who cares? Even if Kang spent all of his time killing Avengers from morning to evening - as an old man he would have still only killed a fraction too small to measure. Pointless.

Multiverses are great for one-offs but tension killers in on-going series.

Apart from the fact that Ali actively campaigned for the role of Blade and probably doesn't want to give it up just for two or three villain appearances in Avengers (adjacent) movies.

Boyega wants nothing to do with this.

This guy ruined his career over what was an assault of a woman in public.
There, fixed that for you.

If Majors believes such actions and behaviours are appropriate in public, consider what he believed appropriate in private.

When people show you who they are, believe them.

And, yes, he's unlikely to receive prison time, and will face only Court Orders, fines and costs, but that's not the point. The point is being called out for and held accountable for ones actions.

Part of that accountability will be a loss of personal status and income, like many other people convicted of offences that could damage an employers reputation or brand.

Majors was arrested, tried, and convicted in court of a crime - a clear contract breach. If such a clause existed, it’s certainly null-and-void now. (And if it’s somehow not, some of Disney’s legal department should be following Majors out the door for agreeing to such stupidity!)
