Just recast.

The article says it's uncertain how many actors would be comfortable taking a role that the original actor was so publicly fired from. It might be deemed best to steer away from the bad publicity associated with Majors and Kang.

Although I hope they don't just abandon what they set up. If they do decide to steer away from their plans, they should at least give some organic-seeming resolution to the dangling thread, rather than just dropping that arc.

I wasn't overly fond of Kang, and for the guy who's supposed to be the next big Marvel villain it sure wasn't a good look that he got his ass kicked by Ant Man and The Wasp

Hoping they move in a new direction rather than recast

Hasn't been a good year for Marvel at all.
I hope they just recast. Not because I love Kang but they've probably had a lot of stuff planned out with Kang already. I don't think they could just drop the character without the marvel universe getting even messier. They might as well go in a different direction with the character. Cast someone older like Denzel Washington.

Based on what I’ve read so far, they’re going to abandon this plot line and find a new villain.
Don't like Kang, didn't like Majors.

Coming soon :
Post credit scene of the massed ranks of Kangs being erased by an unknown assailant.

Pull back to reveal Dr. Doom.

I say recast with John Boyega. He looks/sounds enough like Majors (just slightly younger, by about three years), is a multiple award nominated/winning actor, and they really owe him one after The Rise of Skywalker. "I'm here, it's me, let's move on."

In addition to a bigger paycheck than he had for Star Wars and a guaranteed lead role where he'd actually get to do something? He's getting into film producing now, so they could offer him his pick of any three original projects he wants to do next, in front of or behind the camera.

You can kill dogs and be welcomed back to the NFL.
You can kill PEOPLE and be welcomed back to the NFL.

Leonard Little was driving drunk, killed a woman and back in the league after a half-year suspension. He also only got 90 days in jail plus probation because the jurisdiction he killed a woman was also where he played and they were more than 'generous' in the severity (or lack thereof) of the charges.

The incident definitely changed his life and It made such an impact on his life that he STILL was caught with a DUI a few years later coming just months after his probation for that drunk driving death expired.
