Spoilers Andor season one

I have seen some rumors that Andor season Two has been pushed to 2025. Has anybody else heard this?

I did, reading it on Facebook yesterday. I hope it's not true but the Writers' Strike could well have delayed completing all 12 episodes of Season 2 to the point where there's no use in premiering them in the fall or Holiday season of 2024. They might just wait until 2025 begins to drop the new season so it all launches in the same calendar year.

Not from any credible source, no. But this recent press release confirming Acolyte & SC for 2024 seems to imply it by omission.

Which as with the similar 'Skeleton Crew' delay rumour, gives it the odour of a "rumour" that's just some random person's guess at something that's a relatively safe bet. Obviously just about everything on the live action slate has been delayed, it just a question of how much, and what's been moved around the schedule.

Shooting began November last year, and was scheduled to conclude this August gone, with a year in post before release – but said shoot was cut-short in June because of the strike. No word on when the shoot will resume, but it's a safe bet that it won't be until at least January or February at this point. Which means between finishing what they started plus any pick-ups or reshoots they need, it could run into March or April before they wrap, which makes a May 2025 release the most likely. Now, this isn't a rumour I've heard, it's just simple logic. I wouldn't expect to hear anything official until they've at least wrapped, which is potentially months away.

As for the other two shows; I'm going to take a wild guess and say they'll drop a surprise 'Skeleton Crew' trailer right around Xmas, and it'll release in January, maybe even new years day, with the The Acolyte dropping late Spring/Early Summer, and Bad Batch season 3 in the autumn. Do I have any evidence to back this up? Nope. Which makes it equally as valid as any other "rumour", regardless of the logic or math behind it.

I hope we see the Ghorman Massacre, it’s an important part to why she resigned from the senate.

I wonder if we’ll see a version of her speech here

Palpatine positions himself on the only two sides of the game board.

Statistically, whether she knows it or not, she is the Emperor's Queen.

He made the Rebellion, staffed her to lead it, then killed many Bothans, so that she would lead the Rebellion into a Trap above the moon of the Endor, destroying the Rebel Fleet and christening his new Dark Apprentice Luke Skywalker.

I am kind of wondering how the handle her eventually going on the run since part of it was covered in Rebels.
They mentioned Ghorman enough times in season 1 that it's a reasonably safe bet that we'll see what goes down, as well as the fallout.

As far as Rebels having covered it already: they really only showed a piece of her flight into hiding. Indeed, literally just the final leg of her journey, with only a glimpse at her final speech to the Senate. Plenty of room for 'Andor' to explore, embellish, and add context. I won't be shocked if Cassian will be on Ghorman during the massacre itself.

If I were to place a bet, it would be on this being the central focus of the second arc of episodes, if not the tail end of the first. The season has a lot of ground to cover between where last season left off and 'Rogue One' started, so I think we're going to see the Cassian & Mon stories combine sooner rather than later.

Side note: -
Given that we know they built the set for the Ghost's cockpit for 'Ahsoka', (aka the place Mon gave her "call to rebellion" speech from), that they have a live action Chopper prop, a Zeb live action quality digital asset, that we already saw Eman Esfandi made up to look like season 3/4 Ezra, and that they filmed both Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Genevieve O'Reilly together: I won't be shocked if it turns out they actually recreated that whole scene for Andor season 2 as part of the Ahsoka shoot.

They have all the materials, they just need the will and the script. It is basically the most important thing in terms of the foundation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

Well, it really depends on what story they're going to tell in that particular episode. There's no reason why they *have* to make a point to show Mon on the Ghost with the whole cast in view. Even if one were to recreate the blocking of that shot exactly as it was on 'Rebels' (which they really don't need to do), one could simply have her in a medium or medium close-up shot so everyone except maybe just Zeb & Vander's shoulders are out of frame. Or only show her hologram from the POV of Cassian (presumably on Yavin, or maybe even down on Dantooine) for the whole duration. They don't even need to mention Thrawn or the flight through the archeon nebula, or anything like that.

Don't get me wrong; I'd get a kick out of it if they do go all out with it and as I said before it's very feasible. I'm just illustrating how they can quite easily have this scene without really showing anything from 'Rebels', so the 'Andor' only viewers would be totally unawares.

What makes Andor better (in my opinion) than Mandolorian or Kenobi?

Consistent writing, consistent characterization. No sacred cows, a willingness to make heroes complicated, shades-of-grey people.
In an interview, Tony Gilroy said that the COVID shutdowns gave him an extra six months to rewrite and polish the scripts, and it shows.

I love Mando and Ahsoka, and I think Ahsoka does better with consistent characterizations than Mando, I don't hate Kenobi but tbh I think Andor is just much better.

For the Mando movie and Ahsoka S2, I think Filoni & Co should take the lessons of Andor to heart - refine the scripts for the whole season before you start shooting, make sure your characters are well rounded and human. And vulnerable (Ahsoka excelled at this with Sabine, but can do better!).
Practical sets and locations sell the story a whole lot better than shooting everything in the Volume.
If your show needs more runtime to tell the story properly, use it.
