For All Mankind Trailer - Apple TV- SPOILER

I loved how the twin heartbreaking stories of motherhood between Kelly and Dev intersected with each other, which allowed Kelly to bring Alex with her to Mars. And finally we learn more about Alex's health as related to nature of his birth, so hopefully the remainder of the season will explore that aspect of space exploration.

Oh, and we finally learn what happened to Danny. Not a surprise but I did like how the flashbacks dovetailed with the breaking of Dani and Ed's relationship. It's been a long time coming and I was fully on board with Dani's emphatic "FUCK YOU." Ed only has himself to blame even if he'll never admit it.

I know it won't happen but it would be pretty funny if when Kelly and Alex arrive, they'll just miss Ed being shipped out. No, instead Ed is going to do something incredibly selfish and reckless and probably get others killed to make a point or something. Yeah, I'm so done with Ed.

I thought the Karen video message was new but considering Shantel VanSanten wasn't credited at the end, I guess it was archival. Great use of repeated footage since her message hit so hard this time around, especially you realize she never got to meet Alex. :wah:

Dani letting loose after Ed's constant needling was really cathartic. She broke her own arm for the man, so he wouldn't have to be sad about Gordo losing it! He's constantly accusing her being a careerist and glory-hound when she took a hit that grounded her and made her the laughing-stock of the moon for a decade, and when she asked him, nicely, to be put back in the saddle like she always would've been if she hadn't made that sacrifice, he put her on a PR stunt that she turned into single-handedly preventing World War III. I would not have had so much patience for Ed's constant, increasingly unhinged projection. And I would've dared him to give me the finger, if he really wanted to prove he could hold his hand steady.
A-fucking-men. I forgot about how she broke her arm to save Gordo's ass. But like I said, Ed is a selfish, stubborn fuck and he's never going to his ways.

Well, how much you want to bet two certain someones will cross paths in the Soviet Union…
Oh...duh. I can't believe I didn't see that obvious set-up. I was too busy being annoyed by Brandt and his fucking obnoxiousness.

I cannot wait to watch those fireworks flying! :D

decent progress and a couple of answers and longer term set ups all into one.

cool opening sequences with the telescope and asteroid discovery.
I honestly expected an Asteroid with an Earth collison course (Armageddon Ed + Miner combining to playing Bruce Willis)
Pretty sure THIS is a big part in accelerating not only technical advancements, but also Martian settlement and further out exploring space in combination with Kelly's alien life (evnentual discovery).

the flashbacks from Danielle, Ed and Danny were nicely done. I think they were all almost no sounds/muted and a bit warmer colored/images.

Dev and Kelly's "opposite" family reactions/actions were nicely interwoven, but both equally heartbreaking IMO.
Happy Kelly can take her kid with her. Not sure how Grandma will take the news tough.

Thankfully they finally adressed Kelly's kid health complications/issues and I for one am stocked Kelly is going back to look for alien life.

Now that Ed lost his wings, he could become a Space Grandpa, so maybe no going out with a heroic blaze of glory or total character destruction?

Aleida is gonna NOT meet Margo in person (at least at first), but maybe notice something technical/calcuations of her during the quickly approaching Mars7 or whatever meetings.

still waiting for the (dumbass) Miner/Jeweler to lose
  • his (seemingly regained) marriage
  • barkeep/low profile smuggler friend
  • his job
  • his back-in-space-lady-friend who thankfully hasn't joined his little martian stones smuglling ring yet.

Margo and Aleida meetup is being setup here, I think. Of if not an in-person meeting, the cat will soon be out of the bag.

I'm waiting for them to have Aleida go somewhere 'off-limits' and end up in a situation where she's locked up or detained.

Hope she doesn't get too close to any windows.

Finally someone got into Ed's face and called him out on his bullshit, that was long overdue.

Ed is a a relic of a gone era, clinging to his ways but those ways endanger others and arguably has already cost lives. One could also make an argument that his ways never should have been accepted but he got results and that's what counted. Now he's become a liability and i applaud the show for finally addressing this. However i get the feeling this won't be the last of it, Ed is not the type to accept something he doesn't like but i just hope he won't do something as stupid as a mutiny.

Good for the guy to report him, that is always hard to do but there are much bigger things at stake and Ed is in a position where his unfit status can harm the people under his command and the mission.

How did Danny die exactly? Did he use up all the oxygen in his suit and die of asphyxiation?

I agree that the show set up a nice collision between Aleida and Margo, that will be brutal when it happens but in the end work out for the better for both of them, especially for Aleida who can finally adress her PTSD instead of running from it.

Miles' storyline could use a little speed boost and development - is he going to do something about her and did he just screw over his side gig? This is coming dangerously close to soap opera territory and i've had enough of that with Danny and Karen.

Still 5 episodes to go so there's enough room for things to go very wrong or very right.

That is one of the hardest things someone has to do in a safety-related profession. It happens to pilots occasionally, and I've seen it happen to one guy I know. Never pleasant but sometimes necessary when lives and millions of dollars worth of equipment are at stake.

That is what it looked like to me. Sort of slow and peaceful, versus opening his faceplate. Maybe he did himself before he ate all the food Dani brought him, and that helped the others in the end. We may or may not hear more on that.

This times a million.

Could use a bit more action bit less soap opera.
Hope the guy doesn't cheat on his family.. do hate that trope with a passion.
Danny didn't make it... .. anyways!

So with the progress with propulsion.. why isn't this season a mission to Jupiter? Maybe exploring io or Europa?

Gotta save something for next season when Alex Baldwin becomes the first man on Europa.

Focus is in Mars but i'm pretty sure given the advanced propulsion and fusion engines they already have probes out there, it's just not a story focus and wouldn't add anything to the current storyline.

So any bets how Dev can fuck up the situation on Happy Valley? We have a giant rift between Dani and Ed and now Ed's boss is on the way and unknown to him his Helios worker bees are ready to revolt.

I'm still wondering how the show can conclude. Let's hope no aliens but a nice way to end would be the start of a massive new project - the first interstellar generational ship with Alpha Centauri as a destination.

I always knew what Gore meant (and, I think, so did most of his critics). Sure he never wrote a line of code, but Ike didn't lay any asphalt on the Interstate Highway System, JFK didn't tighten a single bolt on the Saturn Five, and Ronald Reagan (despite what people might want you to believe) wasn't in Berlin with a hammer in his hand either.

Anyone want to place bets on the black market dude ratting out Miles?

I think that's a given - he wants to stay low so he doesn't risk the business. Better a lower but steady and safe profit than going overboard and risking everything, he told Miles repeatedly and as far as smuggling and black market operations go i completely agree. Miles got greedy and it will hit the fan sooner or later, with possible repercussions all over the base.

Yep! "Mars jewelry!". How can he think people will ignore that considering there are ADS ON THE NEWSPAPERS?!? Maybe at first they will think it's a joke or some kind of scam, but sooner or later the truth will come out. And considering that a small rock was sold for $5,000, I can't imagine the final price of the crafted jewelry!

I knew the reunion between Margo and Aleida would be...painful, at best. But I still wasn't prepared for the emotional rollercoaster that we got...and I certainly didn't expect Aleida's first reaction to seeing Margo would be a tearful embrace of relief and sorrow. Once she moved past that initial reaction, her justified anger and disgust unsurprisingly took full control. Years of resentment and distrust came bubbling back and Aleida was right to be furious at Margo's decisions, no matter Margo's self-reasoning that she only what she did for the sake of scientific achievement. Irina is right that no one, not even Aleida, will ever see that the truth in that reasoning and only see Margo's actions. Short of a self-sacrifice, one that she's unlikely to be able to do at mission control, Margo will forever be known as a traitor, regardless of whatever scientific progress she helps gain.

Speaking of self-sacrifice, that was some heavy foreshadowing Dani threw around at her new XO when she said she's willing to do whatever it takes to get this asteroid. Even if with Mars' role in that mission now limited, I fear dark days ahead for her.

And she's not the only one. The moment Ed walked into the secret clubhouse during Sam's heated discussion about the increasing danger for the labor force, I knew Ed was going to jump head first to help spark the looming strike. I wasn't sure how he would do it but I knew that was exactly going to be his trajectory for the rest of the season, just to spite Dani. Quite ironic that Ed Baldwin became a union man in the end!

I've been one of the few people still in support of the Miles storyline but I've lost all sympathy for him when he ousted Ilya from his own operations, simply because Miles couldn't accept the fact that he screwed up with his greed. This whole thing is going to blow up in his face and I imagine it'll have unintended consequences for the strike, too.
