Nah, they can bend because of the power of Wade!

I agree. He gave little known super heroes much needed credibility. I remember at the time that women at work were raving about how unexpectedly good the X-Men movie was. Most comic accurate movies released previously were pretty terrible. Keeping it low key and focusing on the emotional connection between the characters instead of explosions payed off big time and allowed them to start building momentum. I admit that the set pieces in the newer movies are far more slick, and X1 misses a beat in the choreography, but the better choreographed movies often seem to be so much shallower and I think it's easier for your broader audience to get bored if all you have are flashy visuals.Singer can (and should) be held accountable for many things but not putting people in comic book accurate costumes back in 2000 when superhero movies were mostly a joke is not one of them.
Well, "comics accurate" might be a stretch in regards to X-Men. Maybe in broad strokes. Most comic accurate movies released
Also very true! I think most of them were pitched very much at a family/child audience because the assumption was that nobody else would be that interested. Superman and Batman had bucked the trend briefly with broad appeal but even they quickly deteriorated into cheesy camp and lost a bit of their popularity.Well, "comics accurate" might be a stretch in regards to X-Men.
