Okay, that brings actual facts into the discussion, which is infinitely better than "assuming."
Sure, but I wasn't wrong. Regardless of whether this "Final Trailer" was produced in-house by Disney or contracted out, there was pretty much zero chance a movie starring three women accidentally began with 20 seconds of mostly male voices and faces, including two major franchise characters who aren't in the movie, and to suggest otherwise is absurd.

Anyhow, I watched the trailer. So, according to this movie, Monica Rambeau, despite being a former Air Force captain who’s had superpowers for at least a year or two, when seeing a girl about to fall to her death while she herself is safely on the ground, stammers, hesitates, and is reluctant to attempt a save until Fury yells “Black Girl Magic!” at her?

Doesn’t seem very character-appropriate or inspirational to moi. Anyone else remember how audiences fell for Cap because he always tried to save people, no matter the personal risk, even before he graduated basic training? Remember when he instinctively jumped on that grenade the general tossed? (And how much better would that moment have been if Peggy had exclaimed aloud "skinny short boys get it done!")

If the movie does bomb, due in large part to adult male audiences not showing up, it'll no doubt be because toxic male YouTubers activated their inner racists. It won't have anything to do with the fact that the movie's Final Trailer, in its final moment, decided to tell them that the movie seems to value cheap gag lines over depicting military veteran characters as capable and brave. Nope, that wouldn't be a factor at all...

Regarding trailers, don't forget that Disney infamously released an Infinity War trailer that had the Hulk charging in Wakanda, so as to hide that Banner was using the Hulkbuster armor.

Not really.

Evoking Iron Man, Captain America & Thanos, even though none of them are in this movie, even going so far as to record new Thanos dialogue & playing a mix of Avengers theme, they really are trying to sell this as a sequel to Endgame, despite there being 10 movies between Endgame and this, most of which are seen as 'mediocre' at best. The tagline about 'witnessing the moment that changes everything' is just them begging us to go see this movie, by saying that something important will definitely happen in this one, we promise!

And oh look, a Valkyrie cameo! You know what this film with three diverse female leads could really do with? A special appearance from another diverse female lead, to balance things out!

That trailer looked.... desperate.

"Hey! remember when we were at our highest point! This movie will be just like that! We promise!"

@Timby: Yes, and? As you say, the shot was very purposefully included by the filmmakers, and, while it was deceiving in terms of a specific plot/character detail, it quite accurately reflected the movie's tone, and honestly promised a climactic charge of lots of prominent characters in Wakanda. Despite the apparent lack of any such fabricated footage, whether this trailer's implication that the movie will dwell on the legacy of the Avengers' battle against Thanos, however, is another question altogether.

You know what this film with three diverse female leads could really do with? A special appearance from another diverse female lead, to balance things out!
A person can only be one person, and that person is who they are. Ergo, by definition, one person cannot be "diverse," so I would urge anyone and everyone to not refer to any such person (in this case, Tessa Thompson) as such. If you mean to say there are too many Women of Color in the movie for your liking, maybe don't say that at all, but if it is what you're saying, at least be honest about it.

If there was widespread enthusiasm for the character/actor pairing, and similar clamor for Larsen to stick around as Carol, I don't believe for a moment that she'd let online dipsh*ts dissuade her. If she and the character quietly recede from the picture, it will most likely be a result of the character just not plain catching on, both in front of and behind the scenes.

You're probably correct, but actors can be very thin-skinned, no matter the level of experience, so Larson could be at the point she feels she's wasting her time on a character allegedly unloved by some part of the MCU fanbase, and will never be seen in the same way as the Phase 1 characters.

Citation needed.

Some of the rants I referred to were so offensive (with some videos long removed from YouTube and other platforms), the moderators would delete the surviving worst offender links from my post, but here's a few examples of anti-Sam-as-Cap YT clips, starting with The Critical Drinker: Drinker's Chasers - Marvel Hates Its Legacy Characters @ 1:08 - 4:49

The Critical Drinker had another video where he growled (paraphrasing) "Sam Wilson will never be Captain America to me!", getting the nature of that growl across.

Ryan Kinel devoted numerous videos and/or guested on other channels ranting about Sam as Cap: Marvel Needs Chris Evans To Say "Sam Wilson Is Captain America" | Fans Don't Agree

HeelvsBabyFace has a long history of ranting about the position of black characters in superhero productions, with TFATWS being no exception to his idiotic rage:
Marvel Want to Make Sure you Realise BLACK CAPTAIN AMERICA IS BLACK!!
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: SEASON RANT (What an UTTER WASTE)!!

Whether direct or infused with coded language, their bitter blather ultimately circled back to Sam not being fit for the Cap role.

It's worth keeping in mind that we're seeing this scene in isolation, and don't know exactly what was going on around the scene and that exchange, so there could be some context we're not getting that helps explain why she's acting this way. Hell for all we know, Monica panicking, Kamala falling, and that line could actually be from three totally unrelated scenes.
I've seen to many trailers screw take scenes out of context, so that they look one way, but then in the final movie or show or game, it turns out it's the complete opposite of what the trailer made it look like.

Your point being? I can guarantee you any subcontracted trailer company wouldn't put Downey and Evans in the trailer without an okay from Disney, so for all intents and purposes, yes, Disney/Mavel Studios made it.

Are you forgetting how Feige was irritated at how the trailers for Multiverse of Madness showed too much and gave people the wrong idea about the story? He doesn't have final say.

And those Internet Grifters are mad that Women and Nonwhites got more prominence in their "White Male Leads Only" club. The real problem is that it took the MCU so long to do this.

Any direct quotes from him to back that up or is just something you read on the internet?

Kevin Feige is the most powerful Producer in the history of Hollywood. Nothing MCU related that gets released has not gone through him first.

Kevin Feige is the most powerful Producer in the history of Hollywood.

Steven Spielberg would like a word, as would Kathy Kennedy, James Cameron, Jerry Bruckheimer and Irwin Winkler. Historically speaking, people like Charlie Chaplin, David O. Selznick, Irving Thalberg, Samuel Goldwyn and Dino De Laurentiis come to mind.

Feige dreams of having the power that a guy like Selznick had.

I was trying to figure out what, if anything, the MCU movies that I have positive feelings about have in common, and came to the realization/conclusion that all of said films explore the Cosmic side of things, which gives me a guideline to follow in slowly changing the lack of MCU content in my home media library.
