That's revisionist history, I think - I certainly cannot find anything that suggests this was the case previously. Anyway, Secret Wars is intended for 2027. That is a lifetime for a corporate exec. So if they come back it will be much sooner than this I would think.

I 100% think they shouldn't bring back Iron Man, but they have a great excuse to bring back Cap - just have a self-contained, period film where he plays a middle-aged Steve Rogers in the 1950s or 1960s.

He wouldn't wear the suit, but he still has the powers, and could do something incognito.

Hell, they could even work in Isaiah Bradley somehow.

Because there are no announcements for it other than than date and title. But it isn't revisionist history to draw the obvious conclusion about how SW was supposed to create a new hype peak in the franchise.

So it’s looking like reviews by actual critics are less favourable than the WOM ones above

Donald Clarke from the Irish times called it “atrocious, the worst MCU film yet.”

Robbie Collins of the Telegraph calls it a new low for Marvel.

This might be concerning if it weren't for the fact that the words of 'film critics' mean as much as the words of politicians do (nothing).

My local cinema for 7pm on Friday:

I know I know the walkups are going to form a big line on Friday.

I'm seeing it at the BFI IMAX in London, the biggest screen in the UK, on Sunday and there's no screening Friday to Sunday that's more than 60% sold and most are closer to 40%

GOTG3 and bloody Ant-Man 3 were both fully sold out all opening weekend weeks before they opened.

And you'd be wrong.

I don't give any credence or respect to professional film reviews or the people who provide them, regardless of what they are saying, be it positive or negative.

You don't need to give professional critics any credit when it comes to a movie being good/bad.

That said, it's hard for movies which have mediocre Rotten Tomatoes scores to actually be box office hits. There are exceptions (see Mario Brothers), but it's much more common a movie is well-received by critics and bombs at the box office than the reverse.

Rotten Tomatoes scores mean as much as professional film reviews, and the site itself should be purged from the Internet.

Barring that, though, I choose to just dismiss its contents as irrelevant blather.

Ant-man 3 had a fantastic opening weekend. It failed later in the bo run.

So following your, let's call it logic just for a laugh, your opinions that you constantly regale us with must also be worthless and meaningless. Right?
Seriously. If any given poster here boasts that they never care what all professional critics think, why should we think any opinion they share here isn't a total waste of our time? :vulcan:

Saw the movie, can comfirm.

I wonder if they put the contradictions in when they were doing last-minute tweaking of the movie in post, or if the conflicts were caused by whatever the hell brain surgery/necromancy Secret Invasion had in post production.

Given all the delays and reshoots I'm not sure on the correct order but I think the movie was shot before the series. So maybe they just weren't told how they needed SI to end. Wouldn't be the first time in MCU history.

What are the contradictions ?
