Ok. What is the chance of a Picard spinoff?

Several people here engage in borderline bullying and dehumanization, while also wishing for Berman era Trek fans to be excommunicated from the ST fandom.

Nobody does that on this board. Nobody. Doesn't happen.

Find me just one instance of a poster being 'dehumanised' for liking Berman era Trek or one instance of a member attempting to 'excommunicate' such a fan.

Bullshit. Doesn't happen.

If Legacy happens, I think they'll put the Delta Quadrant into play. For one thing, Seven of Nine is Captain. For another, outside of the Klingons, they've addressed where everyone is now in the Alpha Quadrant and touched a little bit on it in the Gamma Quadrant. The Delta Quadrant looks like it has the most untapped potential for follow-ups and expansion. Especially if the DQ becomes easier to reach and the lore is moving in the direction of being able to travel to all four quadrants.

Only speculation. Voyager encountered a lot of species that Starfleet wouldn't have encountered until at least the 25th Century otherwise. And Voyager had to stay on a straight path toward Earth. The Enterprise-G wouldn't have to do that, so they'd have a broader scope to deal with.

Prodigy has already introduced the Protostar drive.

Upgrade, anyone?

The Borg are spread out over multiple quadrants. They could come back bigger, meaner, and nastier than before.

Well if the protostar drive makes it to live action trek what is different about it to warp drive?

A ship equipped with the Protostar drive can do in minutes that which took Voyager seven years to accomplish.

It can jump from the Alpha Quadrant to the Delta Quadrant in an instant. It's warp drive on steroids.

Politics certainly informed the reception of PS1 and PS2, and the lack of a distinct political agenda in PS3 was also noted...

There was absolutely a political agenda in S3. The entire subplot where we find out that Vadic is acting in revenge for the horrific torture she and other Founders endured during the Dominion War, and where we learn the Federation has covered up the true origins of the Section 31 virus, is pretty clearly a story about the ways in which societies that fail to take responsibility for their crimes will suffer blowback in the future.

And on top of that conscious, intentional political agenda, there was a pretty clear reactionary subtext that was probably unintentional: the final arc was about how all those liberal youngsters had been brainwashed by communications technology created by evil foreigners who infiltrated our society, and how it was up to the older generation to save society from those brainwashed youngsters and defeat the evil foreigners. ETA: You could reasonably argue that the subtext of "Vox"/"The Last Generation" was, "Boomers have to save America after Millennials and Zoomers are brainwashed by TikTok."

I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to Terry Matalas on your second point because he's Generation X, the cast of Legacy will be young except for Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd (who are also Gen X), and he was probably thinking in PIC S3 that he just wanted the TNG Crew to save the day. But most of the cast are Boomers (except for Patrick Stewart, who's Silent Generation), so it comes off looking like "Baby Boomers Save the Day!"

On the first point, I can think of several very obvious examples of the USA's actions biting us in the ass, but I think this one is going to fall through the cracks for most people. They're not thinking of Current Events, they're thinking of "DS9 Aftermath!"

I wouldn't be quite so direct.

It may well have been a broader metaphor about how society is prey to cult-like behavior (MAGA, anyone? )

It's all too easy for people to be induced to take leave of their senses (i.e., the anti-vaccine movement).

That plotline was precision-engineered to protect the TNG crew (A bold move would've been to have the TNG crew be assimilated right alongside the youngsters).

OK now I see that last 3 episodes, I counted the last 3 instead in a whole new light

Really, anything anywhere where the main characters have to save the day but they're either under their 20s or over their 50s is going to require some type of plot device or explanation.

we learn the Federation has covered up the true origins of the Section 31 virus,
Actually, it wasn't so much the origins we learn were covered up as it was the circumstances of how the Founders were cured. The TNG crew seem to believe the official story which is the war ended when the Federation benevolently gave the cure to the Founders and an eternally grateful Dominion agreed to stop fighting accordingly. Vadic reveals that what actually happened is that Odo defied direct orders from the Federation government when he gave the cure to the Founders.

That is really interesting.

On a funny note interesting that the Federation invented the portal gun but on a large scale

Amusingly, I still haven't signed that 'Star Trek:Legacy' petition.

I'm good with it not happening, and it shouldn't happen given Paramount's current financial problems. "The Last Generation" was such an effective end for this story (and the highest viewership for any Trek P+ series), there isn't much point continuing it further.

Matalas wrote episodic story outlines for a potential Season One of Legacy. I'm skeptical any of them will see the light of day.
