Stuff that make you wonder but not own thread worthy

Probably that's why they don't break under the strain of their incredible adventures. ('Yes, it isn't always fun to one week slowly be de-evolving, the next week transported back into time accidentally, the week after that meeting some aliens with a really nasty or at least weird culture, then to suffer one week later from a transporter cloning accident, only to be possessed by a disembodied alien intelligence in the fifth week, but hey! those 40 minute highlights still make up for our otherwise extremely boring existence!')
Good points all. Makes you think, remember Kirks original 5 year mission? Quite a lot went on. But, in context of FIVE WHOLE YEARS, that's quite a lot of nuffin too. I bet he couldn't even remember how many red shirts were offed during those five years.

Just what is there to do when in command and on the bridge of a Federation vessel for most of the time? 7 hour journey to Outpost 41 with nothing to do. Other crew members have duties to perform but whoever has the Con is pretty redundant unless something goes wrong, in my opinion. No phone to doomscroll on, engaging in practical joke or banter would probably be frowned upon. They don't even have the radio on.
You train. You review your procedures, update systems, and review reports from command.

A board crew is a dangerous crew, so going through training and drills would be mandatory because otherwise they will get bored, the will make mistakes, and they will act up.

That's probably why there are dramas and quartets and other such activities to build the comraderies in the crew.

Adminstative tasks. Receiving reports from departments engaged in respective functions or experiments etc... The best example is Data reporting over night shift & Worf reporting over to him from evening shift in Data's Day. The things they report came in live on their watch

Various operations are always taking place, many of them necessary to report topside as it were, even if routine, injuries reported from sickbay, maintenance or diagnostic cycle status, repairs, realignments. All kinds of stuff.

In the meantime, while doing so, you maybe run some efficiency drills, or give time to junior officers for training, & yes, if able, maybe even relax a bit & chat

So in my Star Trek Captains battle royale scenario, all the captains from Star Trek get sent to Vasquez Rocks and have to fight it out like "Arena". They all get special weapons based on their shows. I figure:
  • Picard brings his flute and Mintakan tapestry
  • Sisko has his baseball
  • Janeway has her coffee mug
  • Archer has his water polo ball and staturette of Cochrane
And that's as far as I got. Anyone got any ideas for the other guys or even additional to these guys? Does Kirk bring a tribble?

Perhaps a reason why they'd even want to fight one another in the first place? Forced by aliens to do so or do we have some more original reason this time? Settling some really deep-seated grudges perhaps? ('Jonathan, your insipid and unbearably tedious mission logs were mandatory reading and they spoiled a significant part of my youth. Worse, you didn't even adhere to the Prime Directive and you let a dog urinate against a holy tree, insulting the natives! It's imperative we respect alien cultures even if we don't understand them! <whacks Archer with his flute>)

Just bring back the Excalibrans.

In Remember Me, why did it take Bebberly so long to figure out something was happening to her and not everyone else. The Quaice thing was okay because no one else would remember him, but as soon as well known people are not remembered or recorded by anyone or anything, I mean, how can you still think the rest of the world is the problem?

I just use Weekly Planet Superhero Showdown rules in that they're transported there against their will and are manipulated to think the others are a threat and have to stop them using the methods they would normally use in a combat situation.

To be fair, "I'm stuck in a collapsing pocket universe" is a relatively non-obvious conclusion to draw.

Unless Beverly is so self-assured and confident of her own mental and physical well-being that she finds it easier to doubt everyone else. Sort of a reverse hypochondria - "I'm perfectly fine, according to my self-awareness, personal knowledge of my normal baseline and scans, so it must be one or more of you - something's wrong with someone, dunno what."

To be quite honest with you all, I've never drawn that conclusion in my entire life. At least, as of yet. 'Wow, I'm in a lucid dream!' is about the best I can come up with.

Then again, perhaps I should first improve upon my odds by getting a woman, then conceive a hypergenius son with her who's going to fool and tinker around with warp bubbles at age 14.

Ira was full of shit.
And also kind of a shitty person

Better yet, I've always held that one of the things people would do with a holodeck is match, as closely to authentic as possible, replicas of real people in combat with one another, including their fellow comrades, & you know, bet on the outcomes. I don't even know how Quark is too stupid to have not figured out a whole fantasy sports league of his own, doing that very thing. (With permissions or whatever)
