Pfft. Who watches this crap?

Don't get me wrong, I love a good 'Honest Trailers' video but over twenty minutes of nit-picking? Not for this soldier.

Im one of those people who do enjoy Cinema Sins and Gaming Sins/Dartigan.

also RedLetterMedia, Hack the Movies and Moviedumpster and Dragoncurve and Cinemassacre

theyyre better than the other crappy youtubers that try to imitate cinemassacre and the other main known youtubers

you want to know who are annoying on youtube? youtuber gamers like truedawg for Mortal Kombat. He sits in that chair flapping his hands around that gets annoying.

also Rich of ReviewTechUSA, besides him having personal family drama BS about his daughter going blind or whatever, his videos used to be fun when he would talk about videogames but not anymore

I stopped bothering with CinemaSins when they started giving 100-sin penalties for minor things. A lot of their "sins" were stupid anyway.

As for what's wrong with Nemesis...
1. It was crap.
2. See #1.

I could analysis Nemesis more, but CinemaSins started out with maybe 10 minute videos and then it got longer and longer and longer. That becomes less actual interesting content and more just because I can. It is also used as a substitute for analysis.

I prefer podcasts and listening to people who give analysis over a lot of the YT crowd when it comes to film review. Because it feels like a conversation over a gimmick.

The largest issue with CinemaSins, as well as similar channels like Honest Trailers and How It Should Have Ended, is that the content is less criticism and analysis so much as it is "battling" a movie, refusing to engage with it because it isn't the exact movie they theorycrafted in their heads or wanted it to be. A lot of it boils down to, "I wanted them to do X, but instead they did Y, therefore this suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks!"

As for what's wrong with Nemesis? Well, everything.

True, and that's good way of putting it which I had not thought of.

Yes, a lot of it is refusing to put thought towards the film and instead attack the film. Which sounds like analysis until you look at it.

Now, as entertainment that's fine. As I said, it's a gimmick. But, as analysis? No, not really.

For me, Nemesis was the first Star Trek film where literally nothing about it made sense to me.

So Riker & Troi are leaving for the USS Titan, and we don't even get to see the ship?

Guinan is at the dinner, but it's just a cameo for Whoopi Goldberg and we don't see her for the rest of the movie?

Ditto for Wil Wheaton? And why is Wesley even there in the first place? Shouldn't he be exploring new dimensions with the Traveler?

Ditto for Kate Mulgrew? With lines of dialogue that pretty much any generic admiral could have said? Did you forget the last seven years in the Delta Quadrant, Kathy?

So the Romulan senate all get turned into rocks, and somehow this causes the entire Empire to fall to its knees?

So 20 years before, the Romulans cloned Picard. Um, why? 20 years before he was just a nobody captain of a rustbucket ship.

So the other Romulan planet Remus is home to a bunch of telepathic Nosferatu vampire slaves? And we're just now learning about this?

Somehow Shinzon and said vampires were able to construct a gigantic battleship completely under the noses of their Romulan oppressors?

So the Romulan military is in league with Shinzon? Why? Because he killed the Senate? They could have done that. Because he has a big warship with a thalaron generator? They could have taken it from him and then killed him.

And what exactly was the Romulan military's plan after the coup? Just a generic 'destroy Earth?' Again, why? What would be the point of that?

And going along with that...why does Shinzon want to attack Earth? Earth didn't do anything to him. It was the Romulans that he hated. Why didn't he attack Romulus instead? And why does he feel the need to have the Romulan military tell him what to do? He hates them.

Shinzon needs Picard's blood to live. And he needs it, like, RIGHT NOW. So why did Shinzon send Picard on some wild goose-chase to find six different parts of B4 on a hostile planet where the natives could have easily killed Picard? Where would Shinzon be then? Why didn't Shinzon just place B4 intact and floating in space near the Enterprise's route? Would have saved a shitload of time.

Why does Picard all of a sudden have an interest in driving fast cars? Especially since they could have just used the shuttle that brought the car in the first place and is infinitely faster than said car to find all of B4’s parts?

How the hell did Shinzon get his hands on B4 anyway? And how would he or anyone else for that matter know how to reprogram him?

Why did Shinzon wait 17 hours once the Enterprise arrived at Romulus before contacting Picard? See above. He needs Picard's blood NOW.

Why was Shinzon wasting precious time fucking about in Troi's mind when he NEEDED PICARD'S BLOOD NOW?

In conclusion to the above, why didn't Shinzon just tell Picard right up front that he needed his blood? Why all the pointless pretense bullshit? Yeah, I get that Shinzon has a chip on his shoulder because Picard had the life that Shinzon didn't, but...so what? The Federation could have found a way to help Shinzon without him resorting to kidnapping and intending to kill Picard.

Why does Shinzon say he's doing everything for his Reman brothers, but acts like he doesn't really give a shit about them, even shooting one when the guy does something wrong?

Why does the Romulan military all of a sudden decide that Shinzon attacking Earth is a bad idea? It was their plan to begin with! And why is Riker all of a sudden going to start peace negotiations with them? Did he not know that the plan to 'destroy Earth' was theirs?

And why, oh why, was Ron Perlman's talents completely wasted in this movie?

Other than that, tho, it's a pretty good movie.

In Star Trek, promotions are always overdue...
Maybe not always. ;)

Okay okay. "In Star Trek promotions are almost always overdue."

Butr even DS9 shoulda had Sisko as a Captain from day freaking one.

I personally thought Sisko's rate of promotion was generally just fine. And he still got to captain twice as fast as Picard.

So Riker & Troi are leaving for the USS Titan, and we don't even get to see the ship?

No.

Guinan is at the dinner, but it's just a cameo for Whoopi Goldberg and we don't see her for the rest of the movie?

TBF, we never see the Ent-E version of Ten Forward in any of the movies, where Guinan would likely be.

But yes, Guinan should have had a bigger role in the film. Considering she has often been Picard's confidante in situations like this.

Ditto for Wil Wheaton? And why is Wesley even there in the first place? Shouldn't he be exploring new dimensions with the Traveler?

Is there any rule stating the Wesley can’t do both simultaneously?

Ditto for Kate Mulgrew? With lines of dialogue that pretty much any generic admiral could have said? Did you forget the last seven years in the Delta Quadrant, Kathy?

Pretty sure it was a joke. Or at least an attempt at one.

So the Romulan senate all get turned into rocks, and somehow this causes the entire Empire to fall to its knees?

They probably don’t have a succession plan for that. Especially if coups are routine on Romulus.

So 20 years before, the Romulans cloned Picard. Um, why? 20 years before he was just a nobody captain of a rustbucket ship.

They likely learned it from Tasha Yar, when she was captured after returning with the Ent-C. But this is never explained, or called back to.

So the other Romulan planet Remus is home to a bunch of telepathic Nosferatu vampire slaves? And we're just now learning about this?

Considering that its an empire with many second-class citizens living in it, yes.

Somehow Shinzon and said vampires were able to construct a gigantic battleship completely under the noses of their Romulan oppressors?

Maybe said battleship was never intended to be for Shinzon and the Remans, but for the Romulan military. They just stole it, a la Kirk stealing the Enterprise.

As for why the Romulans built it, maybe between the effects of the Dominion War and the threat of the Borg, they were radically rebuilding their military to be prepared for future threats.

So the Romulan military is in league with Shinzon? Why? Because he killed the Senate? They could have done that. Because he has a big warship with a thalaron generator? They could have taken it from him and then killed him.

Maybe the Romulan military is too treacherous to trust a figurehead from their ranks to rule Romulus, so Shinzon is a solution that everyone in the military could agree upon.

And what exactly was the Romulan military's plan after the coup? Just a generic 'destroy Earth?' Again, why? What would be the point of that?

If only there was a Star Trek tv show that concurrently aired alongside NEM that could have explained the origins as to why the Romulans hated Earth so much. A show that could have explained the long road getting from there to here in NEM. With the aims to last seven seasons, even in the face of Trek fatigue. You know, a prequel.

And going along with that...why does Shinzon want to attack Earth? Earth didn't do anything to him. It was the Romulans that he hated. Why didn't he attack Romulus instead? And why does he feel the need to have the Romulan military tell him what to do? He hates them.

Romulan indoctrination?

Shinzon needs Picard's blood to live. And he needs it, like, RIGHT NOW. So why did Shinzon send Picard on some wild goose-chase to find six different parts of B4 on a hostile planet where the natives could have easily killed Picard? Where would Shinzon be then? Why didn't Shinzon just place B4 intact and floating in space near the Enterprise's route? Would have saved a shitload of time.

Why did he need B4 at all to get Picard’s attention? Considering he just committed a coup on Romulus! You know, the Federation’s ally during this thing called the Dominion War that had only ended a few years prior?

While we’re at it, what were the Klingons thinking through all of this? If only Worf could have given us some insight.

Why does Picard all of a sudden have an interest in driving fast cars? Especially since they could have just used the shuttle that brought the car in the first place and is infinitely faster than said car to find all of B4’s parts?

Maybe he was bored and wanted a change in routine?

How the hell did Shinzon get his hands on B4 anyway? And how would he or anyone else for that matter know how to reprogram him?

From Geordi – he was captured all those years ago by the Romulans in the episode “The Mind’s Eye”, and they probably did more digging than realized. But this is never explained or called back to.

Why did Shinzon wait 17 hours once the Enterprise arrived at Romulus before contacting Picard? See above. He needs Picard's blood NOW.

Maybe he had just learned about the regenerative properties of Khan’s blood and was at a crossroads?

:p

Why was Shinzon wasting precious time fucking about in Troi's mind when he NEEDED PICARD'S BLOOD NOW?

Its his attempt at extortion, to get Picard to move faster?

In conclusion to the above, why didn't Shinzon just tell Picard right up front that he needed his blood? Why all the pointless pretense bullshit? Yeah, I get that Shinzon has a chip on his shoulder because Picard had the life that Shinzon didn't, but...so what? The Federation could have found a way to help Shinzon without him resorting to kidnapping and intending to kill Picard.

Because Shinzon is trying to act like an arrogant Romulan i.e. their behaviour in “The Neutral Zone”. Oh look, another call back to TNG that is never referenced.

Why does Shinzon say he's doing everything for his Reman brothers, but acts like he doesn't really give a shit about them, even shooting one when the guy does something wrong?

Again, Shinzon is acting like a Romulan. And treating the Remans like the Romulans would.

Why does the Romulan military all of a sudden decide that Shinzon attacking Earth is a bad idea? It was their plan to begin with!

Have you heard of the plan where Sela was going to occupy Vulcan, with its 1 billion inhabitants, with only 2000 troops? The Romulan military seems synonymous with illogical ideas.

And why is Riker all of a sudden going to start peace negotiations with them? Did he not know that the plan to 'destroy Earth' was theirs?

I think Riker is just behaving as any Starfleet officer would.

And why, oh why, was Ron Perlman's talents completely wasted in this movie?

More like why were everyone's talents wasted in this film?

Shinzon is farming blood from Rene and Robert. He's got plenty of time to frick around.
