Pfft. Who watches this crap?
Don't get me wrong, I love a good 'Honest Trailers' video but over twenty minutes of nit-picking? Not for this soldier.
I could analysis Nemesis more, but CinemaSins started out with maybe 10 minute videos and then it got longer and longer and longer. That becomes less actual interesting content and more just because I can. It is also used as a substitute for analysis.I stopped bothering with CinemaSins when they started giving 100-sin penalties for minor things. A lot of their "sins" were stupid anyway.
As for what's wrong with Nemesis...
1. It was crap.
2. See #1.
I literally just said why.Cinema Sins is awesome. Dunno why some of you dont like them on youtube

I prefer podcasts and listening to people who give analysis over a lot of the YT crowd when it comes to film review. Because it feels like a conversation over a gimmick.
True, and that's good way of putting it which I had not thought of.he largest issue with CinemaSins, as well as similar channels like Honest Trailers and How It Should Have Ended, is that the content is less criticism and analysis so much as it is "battling" a movie, refusing to engage with it because it isn't the exact movie they theorycrafted in their heads or wanted it to be. A lot of it boils down to, "I wanted them to do X, but instead they did Y, therefore this suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks!"
For me, Nemesis was the first Star Trek film where literally nothing about it made sense to me.
So Riker & Troi are leaving for the USS Titan, and we don't even get to see the ship?
Guinan is at the dinner, but it's just a cameo for Whoopi Goldberg and we don't see her for the rest of the movie?
Ditto for Wil Wheaton? And why is Wesley even there in the first place? Shouldn't he be exploring new dimensions with the Traveler?
Ditto for Kate Mulgrew? With lines of dialogue that pretty much any generic admiral could have said? Did you forget the last seven years in the Delta Quadrant, Kathy?
So the Romulan senate all get turned into rocks, and somehow this causes the entire Empire to fall to its knees?
So 20 years before, the Romulans cloned Picard. Um, why? 20 years before he was just a nobody captain of a rustbucket ship.
So the other Romulan planet Remus is home to a bunch of telepathic Nosferatu vampire slaves? And we're just now learning about this?
Somehow Shinzon and said vampires were able to construct a gigantic battleship completely under the noses of their Romulan oppressors?
So the Romulan military is in league with Shinzon? Why? Because he killed the Senate? They could have done that. Because he has a big warship with a thalaron generator? They could have taken it from him and then killed him.
And what exactly was the Romulan military's plan after the coup? Just a generic 'destroy Earth?' Again, why? What would be the point of that?
And going along with that...why does Shinzon want to attack Earth? Earth didn't do anything to him. It was the Romulans that he hated. Why didn't he attack Romulus instead? And why does he feel the need to have the Romulan military tell him what to do? He hates them.
Shinzon needs Picard's blood to live. And he needs it, like, RIGHT NOW. So why did Shinzon send Picard on some wild goose-chase to find six different parts of B4 on a hostile planet where the natives could have easily killed Picard? Where would Shinzon be then? Why didn't Shinzon just place B4 intact and floating in space near the Enterprise's route? Would have saved a shitload of time.
Why does Picard all of a sudden have an interest in driving fast cars? Especially since they could have just used the shuttle that brought the car in the first place and is infinitely faster than said car to find all of B4’s parts?
How the hell did Shinzon get his hands on B4 anyway? And how would he or anyone else for that matter know how to reprogram him?
Why did Shinzon wait 17 hours once the Enterprise arrived at Romulus before contacting Picard? See above. He needs Picard's blood NOW.
Why was Shinzon wasting precious time fucking about in Troi's mind when he NEEDED PICARD'S BLOOD NOW?
In conclusion to the above, why didn't Shinzon just tell Picard right up front that he needed his blood? Why all the pointless pretense bullshit? Yeah, I get that Shinzon has a chip on his shoulder because Picard had the life that Shinzon didn't, but...so what? The Federation could have found a way to help Shinzon without him resorting to kidnapping and intending to kill Picard.
Why does Shinzon say he's doing everything for his Reman brothers, but acts like he doesn't really give a shit about them, even shooting one when the guy does something wrong?
Why does the Romulan military all of a sudden decide that Shinzon attacking Earth is a bad idea? It was their plan to begin with! And why is Riker all of a sudden going to start peace negotiations with them? Did he not know that the plan to 'destroy Earth' was theirs?
And why, oh why, was Ron Perlman's talents completely wasted in this movie?
Aside from Data dying, just before he FINALLY gets the promotion he should have had 12 years ago. I think @Dukhat missed that one.Other than that, tho, it's a pretty good movie.
In Star Trek, promotions are always overdue...
Maybe not always.
