Ten Forward Lounge - Miscellaneous General Chat & Welcome Thread

thanks to @EricF, our ingenious TechAdmin, the replicators in here work within ideal parameters and never malfunction.
Just curious: is there really such a dish? Doesn't the strong cheese aroma overpower the delicate flavour of the lobster? (I hail from a mountaneous country where seafood is rare and expensive, so my experience with lobster is extremely limited. I had it only twice in 60 years.)

If it can replicate anything, why do we never see a thick, juicy Angus burger smothered in cheese, lettuce and tomato, with pickles, ketchup and mustard, sided by a pile of onion rings and a cream soda float?

“Computer! Replicate me a heart attack on a plate!”
“Compliance!”
It's a continuity nightmare?

Pfff. It's replicated stuff way more complicated than some meat and vegetable proteins. I'll have my replicated 16 oz grass-fed Angus tenderloin done medium with sautéed mushrooms, please.

I was going to ask that next--do replicators come in different sizes? What if I want to replicate a 20 inch pizza? Do I have to do so piece by piece?

I'll take mine with extra cheese, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, black olives (if you've never tried it, omg) and an Uno's Pizzeria style crust!

@Michael Two Wolves, I'm new here. Been on Star Wars boards for years. First time on Trek board. What should I know about this place?

You're asking me? lmao I was on the Jedi Council board for years. This is all new to me, though I am familiar with some Star Trek material. There's good peeps, here, though. I definitely recommend checking out the various subforums and what not. You can always find a Star Trek vs Star Wars argument somewhere. lol

I have to catch Star Trek on Pluto TV and Tubi. lol Haven't really read the novels, but Star Trek doesn't really have an encyclopedia the way Star Wars did (which I read through, page by page lmao). Not that I've seen, anyway. I love the technical details, myself, and I'm a big fan of the background characters and technology--I love seeing the different bits and hearing their names and who makes them. Star Wars had Carbanti Stutter Matrices and Star Trek has dilithium crystal arrays.

You're asking me?
Yes, I am! Well, mainly because you're here and
Looks around
I don't see anyone, at least. If anyone else wants to weigh in, that's fine.

I thought there were lots of specs out there for Trek. I know I've seen plenty online.

I just realized last month that I like Trek more than Wars. For one, we get to explore species and characters so much more. Vulcans are a specific group for us. As are Klingons and others. They're known.

For another, the ships in Wars, even the Imperial ones, are mostly one-off. There's not another YT-1300 anywhere. It's a big galaxy, but that big?
