What's your unpopular opinions on SNW?

Fully agreed. Don't change Pike. Just from time to time put him in more interesting and difficult situations.

No, thanks.

If you don't want to see characters put into "interesting and difficult situations" you'll do well to stay away from fiction altogether. Even the puppets in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe faced their challenges - that's called "a story."

We can do the old gag from the sitcoms when i was a kid where nobody in the house can make a sound or the cake will fall. Then the ship goes to red alert.

I'll try that, thanks.

Also, Pike needs a demon again. One of the great things in S1 was Pike struggling with his Fate while still being The Captain. Call it the "Bones, what if I'm WRONG" factor. I'm fine that Pike had some resolution at the end of S1. But that can't be the entire underpinning of his "feet of clay".
I have a feeling that the consequences of Part 2 of Hegemony may give us that.

I hate the angled pylons on the SNW Enterprise. :p

See? Why is that unpopular? It's just true. :vulcan:

They still look too spindly. I was watching TOS on TV the other night at a restaurant and the establishing shot reminded me of just how thin those pylons look. Yes, I know, I know, people will go "But, teh future!" No, it doesn't change my view that the pylons on the TOS, TMP, and SNW Enterprise don't impress me.
Especially the movie Enterprise. Try building the model kit. Those pylons have to be reinforced with metal just to support the warp nacelles, otherwise they'll sag. TOS Enterprise is better. Don't know how well the SNW Enterpise would fare.

I LOVE the spindly TOS nacelles.

If you look at real spaceships - the ISS, Mir, Apollo, Soyuz, Gemini, - they ALL look fabulously spindly! Somehow I associate this look with "space stuff". The Discoprise is way too sturdy. Like a toy. Or a Star Wars ship. Not a real spaceship.

What's
What's spindly about Apollo, Gemini or Soyuz? They all look pretty solid.
MIR and ISS are space stations. The "spindly" parts are mostly solar panels, yes?

Obviously. Solar panels, antennae, radiators, gripping arms, opened hatches, external thrusters, that whole lander on the Apollo.
Also that modular look in general, where you can clearly see the differentiation between a crew module, engine module, escape rocket, lander, re-entry module... all connected via comparatively tiny but sturdy airlocks, that hold the whole thing together somehow.

I like the angled pylons on the SNW Enterprise. There's a lot I don't like (it's too squat and I hate the red/blue nacelle colours) but the nacelles are cool.

That bridge window with the long, long tunnel in front though (invisible from the inside)... oof. Just move the bridge forward like on the Farragut.

I liked Angel generally, and they were also good for Spock both in the "Aspen" persona and even more so as themself.

And they weren't evil.
I rewatched The Squall, last night, the 'Aspen' acting was good until they, as Captain Angel went all Christmas Panto villian.

I want a Mirror episode, just to see Mount acting handsomely cool, calm and totally evil

Mirror Universe? Talk about Panto...

I just don't see the villainy in Angel, sorry. "Aspen" was a bit cloying.
