NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

This would require Manziel to have actually been good at some point in his professional career.

He was not.
I was thinking more the hype around him that was ridiculous, absurd, and painful. I was neither surprised nor annoyed by his trajectory. It was more amusing to watch my Texas loyal brother in law have a conniption over it though.

Honestly, the funniest thing about Johnny Manziel's career is that Jimmy Haslam drafted him because a drunk hobo on the sidewalk told him to.

I'm starting to get concerned Nick Bosa isn't signed yet. Don't be cheap now, Niners.

Probably still mulling over that incredible performance by Trey Lance last week…

Put him behind the first team offense and I bet you he would be better. However, his tentativeness is his undoing.

He was a projected NFL superstar, at one point. Now he seems uneasy doing anything beyond check downs, even against second and third team defenses. Likely needed more time at the college level to mature.

yes he did, and coming out of an FCS school didn't help. It's looking like a really bad decision, but I feel like if Purdy is successful this season as he was last year, then it won't seem so bad. Purdy was the last pick of the draft afterall, so if he's able to duplicate that success, talk about exceeding all expectations 10-fold.

I feel bad for Lance. He was not a great QB, but I feel like he wasn't really given a chance to shine. You really can't do much with only a few games, but the 49ers made a colossal mistake not only trading up for him, but giving up 3 first round picks. I hope the 49ers trade him so they can get some value back for him. Maybe a team (Who has an injured QB) would give him more of a shot than the 49ers could. I could see a team rebuilding or stuck in the middle of the pack taking a chance.

49ers are trading Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys for a 4th round 2024 pick, according to Shefter and Pelissero.

Boy that happened incredibly quickly. I kept seeing a 5th round, so getting a 4th round pick is at least something. Still, this is kind of an Egg on your face situation for the 49ers.

The 49ers were claiming they were keeping Lance as late as this morning.

Don't believe everything you hear. This is GM Speak in full action.
I know. Company line and all.

I'll bet this guy isn't impressed.
