If CTV SciFi loses first-broadcast rights for SNW, PRO, LDS, SFA, S31 and whatever else.
asking viewers to shell up for more money feels like a kick in the pants.
I'm ok with this. Paramount+ being attached to Amazon Prime Video, is a hell of a better service compared to Crave.
I have Prime. My understanding is that subscribing directly through Paramount and subscribing through Prime are the same price, so is there actually any benefit with going through Prime?
Guess we'll know at 3am on Thursday morning.I see the announcement says that P+ will be getting the new SNW episodes, so I'm assuming they'll be on both services?

Well, sure, but in that regard we're no different than the rest of the world, so...? I do like Crave, and there are a few other shows I'd like to watch before I cancel, but I won't be carrying it permanently, so it looks like I'll actually be saving $10 per month.
I meant in the sense that Crave is also available via cable package through cable providers and accessable via set-top boxes, in addition to being available separately. So yes, that deal was quite a bit different.
I’m just not going to make the effort. It might be inconvenient to Paramount, but moving Star Trek from Crave to P+ is inconvenient to me.
Oh, I see.
I do agree that it is kinda sad if it does end up being gone from CTV Sci-if Channel altogether… it really would be the end of an era. It was a good run, though, so I guess we can be thankful for that.
Who knows, if the predictions are true about Paramount+’s future, maybe Bell will be able to get the rights back in a year or two.![]()
As it should. To be fair, I have downloaded, quite legally, several Trek seasons from iTunes, so it is possible to use the term without automatically implying a…nefarious intent.A gentle reminder that discussion of any illegal downloading is strictly forbidden here.

I don’t like the move, but I also don’t like the thought of there being new Star Trek out there that I can’t see, so I will dutifully follow it to its new home. I just wish P+ had more content that I was interested in, like Crave does. It looks like it’ll just be “the Star Trek streaming app” for me.
At least it’s only $10 (for now).
