So before anyone gets the wrong idea, this isn't really a serious frustration or anything, just a minor "roll my eyes" / "shake my head" moment.
When a company's communications team forgets they operate in more than one country.
Got this email today...
This is a company that provides outdoor maintenance services, that operates in both the US and Canada. They know where I live, and they know that's not the USA. Do you know what July 4 is for me? This year, it's a Tuesday. Just a regular old workday. (Actually, even worse, it's the first day back to work after our own holiday long weekend!

)
Their system recognizes I'm Canadian enough to fill in the Canadian version of the contact information in the footer of the email:
But apparently not enough to realize July 4 isn't a thing here.

And I could understand if it was just an "equal opportunity" thing... but even though they operate here in Canada, they didn't send out a "Happy Canada Day" email on July 1. (Although maybe they only sent those to their American contacts!

)
This one isn't even that bad, it's just an innocuous holiday greeting for a holiday that doesn't exist here. The worst ones are the ones that send you a special offer or discount code, then stipulate that it is "valid for US residents only". You have my address, you
know I'm not a US resident, so why even bother to send it to me?!
But like I said, not a serious frustration in the grand tapestry of life. And for any Americans reading this, I hope you did have a Happy July 4 and enjoyed your holiday!
