I think this was a level up in his performance. He definitely had more of a whiff of classic Kirk about him but this is still not TOS Kirk. I certainly feel now that he can do a passable version that gives you little glimpses. He's definitely growing on me.
Yes, well, we all know that Kirk was defined by his weight...It's always mystifying to me that mentioning Mary Wiseman's increasing weight would (rightfully) earn a warning, but 'Shatner the Fatner' jokes are fine?

Everyone lacks Shatner's charisma. Except maybe Austin Powers. This last episode felt like a fan film. The direction was bad and the acting and dialog uninspired. This guy lacks Shatners charisma.

Yeah, the gulf between the best fan film and the worst professional work is so wide as to be unbridgable. And this episode was great Star Trek.Bullshit.
Show me a fan film which has a performance on par with the job Christina Chong did in this episode.
Bullshit..
People here are so lovely
Oh I know. This whole episode has reminded me of aspects of fandom that I find less than palatable, including double standards.Eh, it's not a dig at any particular person on here. Just a double standard I've noticed.
