This ep looks actually interesting. Lots of stuff going on. It's time travel and Jess Bush, when asked what she had to say about season two replied: "We can do whatever the F$#% we want!' Then she laughed that laugh of hers. I get intimations from this that this time travel may alter the timeline and allow the writers to break canon.
Everyone says that every time there's a time travel episode of any show. It never happens.
The timeline is a direct recreation, it has the exact same markers and everything.
Looks like in the new S2 accolades video Pike may be a Fleet Captain plus plenty of new footage to parse through for the curious.
Some would disagree with you on that. It may be the EVERY time there is a time travel episode the timeline shifts.
What I mean is, canon will, IMHO be broken, without explanation.
