Hang on; so they cast Teddy Sears to play Jay Garrick, who he played (kind of) on the TV series but couldn't even bother to make a crappy CGI Grant Gustin?

It was him but it's such a small part I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't know.

But the choice not to include the Arrowverse when showing the other Earths still seems like a deliberate snub. As they showed it's not like they would have needed him to shoot any new footage.

You make a good point but if (IF) DC knew Marvel was beating them out the gate with the storyline they probably should have considered a different storyline simply because the general public won't know which came first.

Actually, wasn't it DC's Arrowverse that beat everyone out of the gate when it came to the multiverse for comic book movies and TV?

The question you should be asking is how on Earth does Keaton’s Batman know so much about the multiverse?

Yes the ArrowVerse did it first, with the Flash crossing over with Supergirl in season one. At the time they were unrelated to each other with them being on different networks. They got more adventurous later on when they started bringing in characters from long dead tv shows at Elseworlds.

I immediately thought it was Savitar when he was thrown out of the speed force at first. Looks like I wasn’t far off. He even sounded like Tobin Bell a little.

It was strange they didn’t use Thawne as the person who killed his mother and just said it was some random bugler. Granted it could still be him but I feel they would have left more clues if so.
I don’t see why they didn’t use him since he’s the perfect villain for a movie since you don’t have to tell an origin story for him. You just need to know that he hates the Flash from the future and came back to kill him in the past.

Using a 62 year-old Clooney (he would be older by the time a Batman film went into production) who portrayed the character in one of the worst Batman films ever made is not a good idea. He was a part of the reason for that film's disastrous results.

I think the post credit scene implied that he fixed it. I don’t think it was supposed to be permanent.
Iris seemed awfully forward here. I have a feeling she knows he’s the Flash from that rescue in JL.

So according to director Andy Muschietti the CGI isn't bad, it's a deliberate creative choice. And if he managed to say that with a straight face I hope he got paid a bonus.

It is weird how cgi seems to be getting worse and worse these few years. I just rewatched all of the Transformers recently and while they are just silly, fun movies, the CGI in them is amazing. I just don’t see why these big blockbuster superhero movies aren’t on the same level.

You can find lots of articles about it online but basically Studios are forcing CGI houses to do more work, with shorter deadlines for less money.

I had a very good time watching it. While I think not taking the Batmobile out for a spin instead of just having it sit in the Batcave and serve as a bed for Young-Barry is a major missed opportunity, the movie was still really good. And most important, fun.
