Indiana Jones 5. It's official.

I've always felt that he comes across as a bit racist, but I'm just looking at it as white guy, so I'd leave the final determination to Asian people.

The new movie will introduce Max, Rover, Fido, Buddy, King, Rex and Mr. Whiskers to the franchise.

Maytree is awesome, and this particular segment was well done!

Indiana Jones and two others are the only three movie franchises in which I have enjoyed all the films within each franchise. So far. If I end up enjoying this fifth Indy movie, then my opinion stands. If I don't, then there will be only two franchises in which I have managed to enjoy all films.

Box office tracking is on par with The Flash; which is not great for something with a 290m budget.

At the same time not surprising when you remember that this is a franchise that doesn't mean much to the 18-34 year olds who make up the bulk of the cinema-going audience.

The movies were supposed to be inspired by old serials--it was racist, but I don't think the Lucas or Spielberg (or the general audience at the time) would have considered it that way. They were just trying to create a fun sidekick character and piled on Asian tropes that had been used previously.

Oh yeah, I trust that Spielberg and Lucas weren't trying to be offensive with him, and there are definitely a whole lot worse characters out there.

I don't know that it's a reaction to a female sidekick as much as a reaction against the politics of the actress playing the role. Ridiculous either way, though.

Why would people have a problem with her politics? All I know about her is she starred in Fleabag, which I haven't watched and was L3 in Solo.

All I know her from is Solo and this. I didn't even KNOW she had questionable politics. I'm sorry, but unless it becomes headline news or a pretty hot topic of discussion or both I'm not hip to every A- or B-list star's politics.
