No. This is a new thing to make sure the Thursday package is more attractive to bidders the next time around.

Thursday Night Football should be eliminated.

Why take that risk when you have TV networks, gambling companies, municipalities and fans just dying to give you cash as fast as possible.

I wish I knew how much it would take for people to stop giving them money.

I'm not 100% sure the stock market is a good place to be putting all of one's nest eggs. It's been pretty volatile, of late.

I would 100% agree save for the fact that I would not want anyone giving owners of League teams money either.

Huh... Seems that the US Patent & Trademark Office also thinks "Commanders" is a stupid name for the Washington Football Team!

A bit of hyperbole on my part, admittedly. Basically, it's about a potential trademark "confusion" with other team names. As much as I dislike the current name, I find the rationale for USPTO denial kind of silly, - fans know who their team is, FFS - but there it is. Here's the text of the ruling, which will likely be appealed:

Only when it's high profile. My dad's company had a bunch of registered patents for some unique cell phone tech back in the late 90's/early 00's. Several years into it, some of the bigger phone companies (who shall remain nameless, but not much imagination is required to know who they are) started implementing the exact same tech - tech that took my dad's company many years and many millions of investment dollars to pioneer custom hardware and software that never existed until that point. Despite the lawyers' best efforts to engage in the fool's errand of upholding existing Patent Law (GASP! What a concept!), it was all pretty much stolen. It's all obsolete now based on certain elements of mobile phone advancements that have occurred since that time, but it was still complete bullshit. USPTO doesn't protect a fucking thing that they don't want to.

Cardinals cut DeAndre Hopkins, save $8.15 million in cap space but also take a dead cap hit of $22.6 million.

They didn't want to designate him as a post-June 1 cut (which would have impacted their 2024 cap room), which means they're embracing the tank, probably in an effort to land the #1 pick and get Caleb Williams.

I feel bad for most #1 picks. There's no way one player, even the best player ever, can turn around a team that sucked hard enough to get the #1 pick, but that doesn't mean the pressure isn't there for him to be the saviour.

Then you have teams like the Lions and Browns, who despite having numerous and even consecutive #1 picks at times, still manage to suck rocks.

I'm hoping the Bears can prove more picks = improvement.

Am I remembering things wrong or did sports reporters once upon a time not ask every coach and player, "What was going through your mind?"
