Who's up for Disney's Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser?

I wonder if they'll try to just convert it into another on-site hotel or tear it down. I guess they could also just let it sit and rot like their old water park.

Cue the urban explorers!

Nah, it's not built to be a regular hotel. Small rooms, no real amenities, no actual windows, etc.

Good point!

But considering Vegas shuttered Deep Space Nine and the Enterprise D, I can't imagine they're looking for another space-based adventure.
Unless they can partner with James Cameron for the Pandora thing or something similar.

But, yeah, with companies downsizing their expenditures I don't see it as likely.

I am shocked... SHOCKED I say that this expensive, short experience was not a hit among the general public.

They should have reduced the price or increased the length. The value proposition for the general public (not you, Crewman6, we all understand your superfan status and would have paid anything they asked) needed to make thus a long term business was just not there.

Not sure what the f that's supposed to mean.

Yes, it was uber expensive but I'll push back a bit on the notion that "the average family couldn't afford to go". This was never meant for the average family. In their own words, this was a 'boutique experience'.

What they overestimated is how many people would pay so much money for such little time. Had the stay been more like 3-4 days then that might have been better. Even at half the price it would have been expensive.

I also wonder about the effects of the pandemic. The economy took a hit and people who might have been ordinarily curious to go just couldn't.

Great idea, bad timing, and bad pricing for value.
