Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

Is anyone else having trouble getting the manual navigation to load? I click "enable navigation" and the button disappears, but the movement controls won't come up, and it just reverts back to the slow pan, and only being able to look around from the static position.

It doesn't work if you're on Firefox. If you are on another browser, you have to give it a minute or two to load, maybe more. At least on Microsoft Edge, it was able to load, but it was also a bit janky, crashing on me a couple of times.

Here’s an interesting thread about a theory with the Spock/Colt short videos
https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1654862321485791233.html
Wow, if that is the intention, then kudos for a wonderful, intelligent, imaginative idea that absolutely reeks of Star Trek and super mega kudos to anyone capable of stitching those threads together.

If that wasn't the original intention, just pay the man. I can't imagine anyone is going to come up with an idea better than that.

Every shot and editorial choice was intentional in every video we put out for Roddenberry. I loved this thread, it is the first I had seen if it’s kind, and so glad it’s being shared!

Aha. That's not a denial. And I have never seen you and Wesley Crusher in the same room at the same time...

Ok, I admit that my conspiracy theories are a bit more basic and evidence light.

I don't get it, how do I see the bridges?
As said by USS Glenn, "Use a browser other than Firefox, click a ship and wait for the loading animation, that might take up to a few minutes depending on the server load. Then you can go full screen and navigate with ASDW."

I'll add that there should be a button labeled "Enable Navigation" that you should click first.

I See no ships to click? I went to the site linked in the fits post, there are a bunch of videos and pictures and at the bottom of the page are a lot of ships but they aren't clickable???

Edit: Oh, there's a link within the linked article. Would have ben helpful to maybe link directly to that in the first post.

Yeah it's weird. A lot of Trek fansites mention the site, but link to the company running the site and not the site itself. It probably doesn't help the web address of the actual site is a bit odd: https://roddenberry.x.io/ Not your typical .com/, .net/ or .org/ address. But at least people now won't have your problem. For a few pages at least.

TMP seems to be a pivotal point in time.
I thought Spock might not have just sensed V’ger, but the Nexus…perhaps also a part of the Well of Tomorrows.

Good thing he took the Vulcan shuttle and not the transporter.

I might have the next vignette have TMP Spock look up at Reliant leaving Spacedock and a tear come down his cheek…like the commercial back in the 1970s.

His Gethsemane moment…on Genesis…maybe that could save Vulcan?

And all of that without a single word of dialogue. Mind blown indeed. :vulcan:
TMP was inspired by 2001 - epic visuals that give you goose-bumps. The short videos are similarly conjuring up a sense of wonder, calculated to pique curiosity, particularly for those with some understanding of the lore.

I'd love to see a feature-length film made in this style (referencing the short films that exist thus far) for P+. No big baddie...no over-done action...just a visually sweeping mystery with emotion and wonder and all those cool feels.
Like season 4 Discovery! Great idea
