I think this was probably the end of the road for Picard and Data. Definitely the end of them all together as a group. If Legacy actually becomes a thing, then I imagine we'll see Crusher, Riker, Geordi, and Troi again in live action at least once more. Those are the actors I've seen the most say they'd love to do more appearances and/or have been hyping up the spinoff idea. Plus, narrative wise given who would likely be on Legacy, they make the most sense for cameos.

Worf is a question mark for me, but I'd lean maybe/yes.

Live action aside, I could see all of them popping up on LD and Prodigy as well.

Be happy with "TNG Season 8" - just 29 years later - which is what the 3 seasons of PICARD were. (in the 1987-1994 TNG era, syndicated seasons were 26 episodes. If you add up all 3 seasons of PICARD you get 30 episodes - so yeah, in the end, PICARD = TNG S8.) ;)

    I dunno...
    Data died in "Nemesis".
He died again in "Et in Arcadia Ego".
    He keeps coming back.

But I hope I'm wrong. Spoiler-free, I liked the ending Data got with "The Last Generation".

"Season 8" having 30 episodes makes up for Season 2 only having 22 because of the Writer's Strike.

PIC S1 is like the batch of the episodes from the fall, PIC S2 is like the batch of episodes from the winter, and PIC S3 is like the batch of episodes from the spring.

It could have been a year of both. That’s my hope

Hopefully a recruitment drive. Got a few slots to fill.

I was hoping for occasional Raffi/Worf appearances as a team in any new series. But that was before Raffi was made FO and Worf "outed" her.

I think we will see more of the characters. I want to see more of them. I don’t want to see the old crew together again. In the ‘80,s, we saw the TOS crew return again and again. I loved it back then. It’s hard to watch now. I’m …,mainly, thinking about Trek #5. Martin Scorsese returned with all of the crew of his favorites in The Irishmen, with De Niro, Pesci, Pacino et al. That should be the last class reunion for them. I’m thinking the same for TNG. It was a great ending. Let’s not repeat it again.

We’re lucky to get them all back and a proper ending. I’d say let them ride into the sunset.

When you have the perfect ending, better to call it a Trek. We still have plenty of other casts to play with.

I hope so for the most part anyways. I wouldn’t mind if Worf showed up again because I loved the chemistry between him and Raffi. I think the other TNG characters really don’t need to return except Data. I’d like to see how he copes with being more or less human now.

If Legacy happens, you'll be seeing Will Riker a lot. Matalas seems to mention him consistently when talking about his ideas for the spinoff. Perhaps Admiral Riker?

Watched Frakes on the Shuttlepod show with Trinneer and Keating, and Frakes seems up for new adventures.

Expect he'll be behind the camera if not in front of it. Another Trek series for him to have a part in...

He'll probably do both. Matalas straight up says he has a lot more that he'd want to do with this new reinvigorated Will Riker.

Apparently Frakes has a verbal agreement to direct an episode of SNW S3 in Toronto, but they can't confirm it yet because of the impending strike. So Frakes is indeed up for more directing tasks into his 70s.

Sounds good. Hoping the WGA's concerns get addressed to their satisfaction and sooner than later.

And now back to our existing thread!

I'm happy with this being the end of TNG but the characters showing up now and then. Maybe a comic or novel can tell us what happened in that one year gap? And of course what happened to the E (which was NOT Worf's fault!)

Spock, Sulu and Scotty reappeared post TUC and/or GEN, not to mention the fan films and one audio George, Walter and Nichelle all did. As long as the actors are willing and there's a good story I see no reason not to

If you give him at least partial credit for the "Friends and Family" commercial he was in with the full TOS cast, Jonathan Frakes has been involved in some way with every single Trek except for "Prodigy" and "Short Treks".

    TNG - Appeared, Directed
    Movies - Appeared, Directed
    DS9 - Appeared, Directed
    VOY - Appeared, Directed
    ENT - Appeared
    DIS - Directed
    LD - Voiced
    PIC - Appeared, Directed
    SNW - Directed (upcoming)

And hey, Riker is around in Prodigy's timeframe, so... could happen!

I think you’re right. I’m thinking of Harvey Keitle. Also, Pacino was in some edgy movies in the day that are not Scorsese films.
