Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Matalas: "I'm not the Messiah!"
Fan 1: "I say you are, Terry, and I should know, I've followed a few!"
Fandom: "Hail, Messiah!"
Matalas: "I'm not the Messiah! Will you please listen? I'm not the Messiah, do you understand? Honestly?"
Fan 2: "Only the true Messiah denies his divinity!"
Matalas: "What? Well, what sort of chance does that give me? All right, I am the Messiah!"
Fandom: "He is! He is the Messiah!"
Continued...

Fan 1: Oh look, what is that?

Matalas: What? The Borgified Changeling Tribble prop from the Daystrom Annex scene?

Fan 2: And what about that?

Matalas: What? The unused Toupee piece we were going to use to show Jack was as bald as his father, Picard? We dropped that story point from the script.

Fan 1: Follow the Holy Borgified Changeling Tribble!

Fan 2: NO! Follow the Holy Toupee!

Slightly Disgruntled Fan: Hey what about the sloppy plotting and really disjointed story elements in PICARD Season 2? He's not so great...

Fan 1 & 2 (In Unison): KILL THE HERETIC!
;)

While we fans can get a little too obsessive, and I'm guilty of this in some areas, I'm not one who thinks Mr. Matalas is a deity.

I posted this in the ep 10 thread but it's probably more relevant to this thread so forgive me for repeating but...

Guys. How the fuck did this happen?!? Season 3 is thee best Trek in decades. It's just plan amazing from start to finish. Wtf is going on. New writers?!??? Someone fill me in cuz they lost me in s1 post synth body Picard and I completely skipped season 2. But I was blown the fuck away by this season. It's literally peak Trek IMHO. I haven't watched Trek this great since I got into Deep Space 9 when I was addicted to oxycontin out of high-school (don't worry, been sober for forever now minus the occasional joint).

it's not like we're paying by the letter anyway. I'm sure in the early days TrekBBS was operated by telegraph and they had to pay a grumpy mechanic to turn the gears and cylinders every time someone hit reply, but we're almost two months more advanced than that, now.
True story. I was there.

In fact, threads didn't have multiple pages and they were closed after 100 posts. Anything more than 100 posts and a thread would take too long to load onto some computers. We had no Private Messages. No avatars. We had no Lounges at first. No TNZ at first either. Only four Star Trek series. The list goes on...

The Good Old Days when Trek fans were actually appreciative of whatever shows/movies we got.

So completely creatively bankrupt that they couldn't come up with a single new scene, image, or idea.

It's just a worse version of crap they already made. Might as well watch re-runs.
