YouTube interviews/streams with Terry Matalas, other writers/producers, actors

It's not the shows fault they're confused.

Some fans these days seem to lack critical thinking skills and want to be spoon fed every little detail.

Even on this forum before Terry Matalas cleared it up that these Borg are the original Borg, not the s2 Borg. People still ask where the season 2 Borg are.

I recommend that you go edit your YT Video posts and hide them with Spoilers so that it doesn't bog down people's browsers when they load up the page.

Otherwise, it might hog alot of CPU resources and slow down the browsing experience for those w/o beastly CPU's or are on mobile.

Will do. I've used Brave Browser on my laptop and phone for years, and have never had this issue, but as a former Firefox user I know what happens when anything loads on you unexpectedly.

Some highlights: the team working on the Enterprise-D bridge came down with Covid, the M'Talas District 6 was a redress of an Iraqi village from AMERICAN SNIPER, the Enterprise-D stage was the same one used for Raylan Givens' hotel room on JUSTIFIED, Blass sees Star Trek as a "historical drama", Blass worked on Terry Matalas' Witch Mountain Disney+ pilot, the Transporter Room set was redressed for the nacelle control room, there was only one crew quarters set, there will not be a 4K of the season as it was only finished in 2K.

A very cool listen... Davis wants to return to Moriarty on a potential Legacy or even Prodigy since he knows Kate Mulgrew. Davis is touched when told Terry Matalas offered to pay for his appearance in season 3 out of his own pocket if necessary. Also has a crazy story about working with Katharine Hepburn and her meeting his parents. Finally, he does a killer Patrick Stewart impression.

Bumping the thread to share a new YouTube interview with Terry Matalas that dropped today from a channel focusing on Six Scale action figures after a season 3 Picard was released.

Some takeaways:
  • No Legacy in active development, but an oddly specific time range is given by Matalas that there could be news in a year to a year and a half
  • Intention is to start filming SFA "this year"
  • There were only two days to film on the E-D bridge, they only had time to do two takes of some of the scenes
  • Only three days to film on the Borg cube... weekend before filming camera testing showed it looked too much like Yoda's planet from Empire but the crew worked around the clock to get it ready
  • A scene written but never filmed for "Farewell" indicated that the real Borg were still out there
  • Having Seven take command of the Stargazer was put in at Terry's request to help set up season 3

This feels way too much like this.

Well, I wasn't happy about the dying part because I just kept saying, "You know, this is Star Trek." Star Trek deals with big issues. If you're going to have me die, which is fine, we need to delve into that. And quite frankly, death is perhaps the biggest human issue that there is. And we need to delve into it. And they didn't delve into it. And so I thought of it as being somewhat of a lost opportunity. And I made myself clear to Terry [Matalas]. I just said, "I don't know, it just doesn't rest well with me." I feel that the audience - and we're doing this for them - I feel that the audience will come and say, "I don't understand. You're immortal. There's a disconnect here. What's going on?" We need to answer some of these questions.
they knew that in a way this was the beginning and the end the last one and um Patrick made a little speech I made a little speech and Terry came up to me and he said I have figured out a way for you to come back and I said oh thank you thank um and uh uh and so that was the scene and I love the fact that it was done during the crawl and I loved the fact that you know they see and it's a wonderful episode it really wrapped up TNG it really was terrific and stuff like that and I could just imagine people at home going oh wow that's great you know
