Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

Yeah I counted 5 Odyssey Class ships and the Ross Class ships did have their nacelles in one of the shots - best to ignore that mistake. I called the E-D and oh how glorious it was and they even used the original TNG warp effect of the nacelles stretching! It's this kind of attention to detail that elevated this Season in general. So now this is the only time in all of Trek we have had two USS Enterprises flying around at once. I'm drafting a petition to make the E-D the new flagship of Starfleet (again) ;). BTW it's crazy how many Odyssey Class they have floating around so it must predate this series by at least a handful of years so we can throw STO continuity in the bin. I'm glad Starfleet are still building big, grand ships like the Odyssey. Some might hate it but everything about it screams Trek. I love it! If the D was a cruise liner, the E was a battleship and the F is a great merging of both design philosophies. It might be a little chubby but it deserves the spotlight sooner or later.

The canon Odyssey class was introduced in the late 2380's.

So last season they introduced the new Excelsior, this season they blew it up. That’s probably going to get some fans in a tizzy.
