Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Is Daystrom Station located in the Sol system?

I don't think so. When the Titan left Riker Worf and Raffi at Daystrom Station Picard went to visit Athan Prime and told Riker that he would be back in an hour. This means that Daystrom Station and Athan Prime are relatively close.

I conclude that because it only takes a few minutes of warp speed from one place to another.
The ship can do warp 9.9. Considering in the TNG Warp factor scale, Warp 10 is infinite you're everywhere all at once, and can come out anywhere) ; I would think at Warp 9.9 they could get almost anywhere in an hour. ;)

That was my thinking for how they got to the edge of federation space in a few hours in the first episode of the season.

Yeah, the warp scales are logarithmic, so the actual speed increases exponentially with the warp factor. Top speed of Titan was Warp 9.99 according to dialogue in episode 1. That would be significantly faster than Voyager's top speed of 9.975.

On the other hand, warp speeds and distances in Trek are very fudged in general anyway. "Speed of plot" and all that.

But again, yes, the fact max warp has increased so much does make fast travel within Federation space much more feasible than in 90s Trek.

There's Yellowjackets still going on and a great new show on Netflix called Beef, so I'm good. I'll miss having Trek for a while though.

To each their own. Love me some spoilers.
Obviously. But it's a lack of respect for everybody involved in the creation of the story. Still, if folks want to pour water on anticipation, who am I to argue. Though I will grumble and shake my head.
