Yeah but they have 700 years more of exploring already done than in the 25th century. Just not as fun.

Its not like there aren’t there aren’t things outside of the galaxy. Things like the 10-C. The frontier is literally endless.

I just prefer a space less traveled era.

Time period is irrelevant, just make a good show. Make a show in the 32nd Century, the 22nd, the 24th or between March 17th of 2266 and March 18th of 2266. It doesn't matter as long as I'm engaged and entertained.

1000% this. Give me characters I care about, tech that is moderately interesting and relevant, and stories that engage me on some level presented within the Star Trek sandbox.

People make this way harder than it needs to be.

I signed. This is the best trek since Ent season 4 with Coto.

    Nearing 15k.

I'm keeping my posting here to a minimum now because I know some major spoilers about the final episodes of Pic S3, and I didn't want to unintentionally (or intentionally) spoil it.

Someone mentioned Social Media as being more effective than a Petition, and it is. The guys who made this petition (Popcast) know how to encourage the retweets.

Todd Stashwick even retweeted this petition.

We'll see if it gains more momentum after Episode 9/10. Those episodes will be what will likely put the demand for more 'Terry Trek' into overdrive.

Longterm, this could get the same amount of signs and social media activity as the 'Pike Spinoff' movement. We shall see.

Yeah, for me the last two were stinkers. Hoping the final three are better. It’s been a fairly solid season until that point.

    Still not signing.

Season started well, but it's spinning it's wheels now and it's increasingly clear that whatever plan the writers believe they have will be an unsatisfying ass-pull when they finally get around to giving any meaningful answers.

    So, yeah, no.

There will be a satisfying ending. Though I understand how many may be 'burned' (no pun intended) on that after the earlier seasons of Picard and all of Discovery's season long arcs.

I think the ending has the potential to win some fans and audiences back who have given up on this franchise.

All this praise towards Lord Terry is both amusing and somewhat disturbing.

Sure, season 3 of Picard has been an improvement over the past seasons, but is that because of Lord Terry and his amazing writing? Or is it because people will eat up nostalgia like a fat kid on a cupcake and they're glad to see the TNG cast back together?

Take away the constant nostalgia bombardment and is the show THAT much better then past seasons? Can Lord Terry deliver a show that doesn't rely almost solely on nostalgia? I'm not so sure.

I think it's more this, but I'll grant that Vadic's storyline is interesting enough to keep me engaged.

At this point in time I'm not convinced that current audience members want something that isn't fueled based mostly on nostalgia.

A surefire way to make a franchise go stagnant.

    Well, that's on you then.

There are worse fates, like a Tilly spinoff.

Which appears to be what is desired. Safely and perfectly replicated leftovers as comfort food. We don't challenge you too much, and everything will be fine at the end, so don't your worry your pretty little heads.

It's just ear tickling at this point. It has no regard for actually exploring strange new worlds.

You only need to look at what’s going on with Star Wars right now to see this playing out. Mando is drowning in nostalgia and fanservice, and getting steadily worse all the time. Then you got Andor, which is actually trying something new, and it’s the best thing they’ve produced in years.
