Like I said, not fantastic next to folks who live in relative good health until 85 to 105, but good enough miles on the clock.
I should probably watch more H:LOTS. I haven't seen many episodes of it...I mainly know Munch from SVU. I hope H:LOTS is available on Peacock...
It's not available for streaming anywhere. The prevailing belief is that the music rights (the show, and the movie, used a lot of licensed songs) are what's holding up any streaming release.
I loved him in both SVU & Homicide, but he was criminally underused in SVU, especially into the later years. His promotion to Sergeant offered many opportunities, but he was pushed aside for Benson & Stabler. They set him up as this big baddie and didn't have an exit plan for how to defeat him. I hope that is the last we have seen of Teddy. I was also turned off by their handling of Jet. When she was first kidnapped, she did break character (when she could have said she wears a wig because of x, y or z). Bell seems too wrapped up in her own affairs, even after the Murphy as an informant passed, to realize that Jet is going through some pretty intense PTSD. I wouldn't expect Stabler to see it, even if he is close to her.
Organized Crime feels like it's being written on the fly; they want to have arcs but have absolutely no idea how to connect the dots. It's like they have Z ending defined, but absolutely no clue where the other 25 letters fall.
I'd say that too. Same goes with SVU. Just not a lot of follow through with the eps. OC is still trying to find itself and at times, SVU is meandering.
For the final arc of this season, Stabler is going undercover as his twin brother who is most definitely not a cop. Murphy won't see it coming.
Wouldn't somebody else have to go undercover for a change? Stabler keeps this up, somebody is gonna recognize him. As for Murphy, not only did they pull the "informant" thing right out of their ass, but I suspect he is connected somehow to the corruption which is certainly going on in the higher levels (typified by Deputy Inspector Goldfarb and her ilk). Some of said higher ups may well be on Murphy's payroll. And about Jet: Has her last name been pronounced the same in any two episodes? Seems like it's different every time she says it! FIgures.
They tried both Jet and Whelan and had them both fail pretty spectacularly. Reyes seems to have some skill into it, but like with Benson on SVU, OC seems to believe Stabler is the only one who can do anything.
They should bring back the other detectives from the first two seasons for undercover missions. Even the viewers won't recognize them.
And Saint Olivia strikes again this week. She must go read to the King of the Moon to Bradley Whitford. Yes, it was an emotional sequence, but they paid for Nancy Travis. Why not have her reading the story to him in a flashback-esque sequence? No, Benson had to do it. I think her ultimatum to Velasco was a little much. In order to regain her trust, he must betray the guy that literally saved his life because that is "what cops do?" And he will be lauded for making a choice that is literally give up your friend or I will hold this over you and possibly turn over to authorities in another state? She is so damned sanctimonious. These two scenes ruined what was otherwise a very good episode. Bradley Whitford knocked it out of the park, even though his lawyer seemed more concerned with getting him off a dementia defence than proving his innocence. The Fin, Velasco and Churlish scenes were also strong. I don't know how they are going to balance all of them and Bruno and Muncy when Benson takes up so much screen time. I'm still disappointed that they wrote off Tamin, a character who was complex and an actor who wanted to stay, when they were just going to bring on other characters.
They had a dedication for Richard Belzer at the end of the episode. Instead of showing Olivia reading the story to Bradley Whitford's character I would rather have seen a little Munch montage.
That whole sequence made me want to puke. Not as much as that stupid bit I keep seeing on ION Television where Saint Olivia whispers "You're gonna be FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE......", but close! OC, on the other hand, was great. Michael Biehn especially. Unfortunately it doesn't look like this will be another arc.
Sean Jablonski has bailed as OC showrunner before the end of the season. He's the fourth showrunner to depart in the last year, and the fifth overall through three seasons. David Graziano takes over.
The concept works as mini-arcs, but we keep getting random one off episodes that are better than the arcs.
This isn't terribly promising, as Graziano has multiple allegations of workplace aggression against him during his time on SVU. Five showrunners in three years. I'm starting to think there's something in the water at the OC offices (and I'm wondering if Meloni has let his creative control go to his head).
There is only so many organized crime storylines and they've ignored extending storylines that could be interesting, like biker episode. They spent way too much time with Dylan McDermott.
