Game Star Trek Resurgence - new Star Trek videogame announced

I am beginning to wonder just how far along this game actually was, because apart from a few pics and a scripted 4 min game video released almost a year ago, nothing else has really been shown of the game, which at this point after they said it just needed some "polish" 6 months ago, you would think more actual gameplay would have been avalible by now, i mean one month until it is supposed to launch and still they are fully cloaked. lol

I am also eagerly awaiting this game. I'm a bit bummed to read the cancellation talk here. I was hoping they were giving it the VR treatment. Anyway, the comics are out now - four of them. I'm not sure if more are coming. But, That would suggest to me, we should be hearing something extra soon. Fingers crossed!

I don't like to speculate cancellation, but I'm vaguely worried that they're waiting for the comic to finish (issue five is the last one) before they announce bad news of some kind.

I think of upcoming games, I’m anticipating the next Mass Effect the most.

Sadly, after Andromeda and Inquisition, I no longer have any faith in Bioware. They also haven't confirmed it's a returned Shepard so I can't enjoy anticipating it.

While it has its flaws, I enjoyed Andromeda a lot. I’m also one that thinks Shepard should be part of the narrative of the next game in some form but want him to stay dead.

Andromeda had its good qualities but the game-play was too much trash mobs and time sink over narrative. I also won't buy the game without Shepard because the game killed him/her for arbitrary stupid reasons and I hate when games do that.

IDIC and all that. I enjoyed Shepard’s sacrifice. Though having the character back wouldn’t be a dealbreaker for me.

Ok, i am putting up 500 quatloos as a prize for whoever predicts the outcome of this game....

Ok i predict we will get another delay, then the game will be cancelled, and we will find out that the game devs were nowhere near even a quarter of the game being finished when they released that trailer over a year a go.

Nah, I predict it will get delayed a few months. My guess is May. Delayed releases are nothing new. The problem is when a publisher sets a definite date. It just creates more disappointment when it comes and goes, which is why a lot of devs like to simply say "when it's done." My guess is that it just needs some polish before they finalize it before it goes gold.

Grand Prize for correct guess..
500 quatloos......

Is "never" a viable option for the sweepstakes? If so, I'm in!

Although, it would be a bit paradoxical for the current context. If I win, I still get nothing. :ouch:

My guess is it won't be released, but I REALLY want it to be, as it looks fun, and I love Trek games (no surpise there).

We've had lousy luck with Trek games since the late 1990's hey days.

if it is released, they need to fire their marketing teams... would it really cost them that much to do some posts/interviews on youube, TrekBBS, Twitter etc? I'm sure Trek gamign fans would do it for a complimentary copy of the game, so it wouldn't cost them that much. Make proper ads for their Paramount+ streaming platforms and advertise on TrekBBS etc.

Some updates, mainly from the twitter account, after the prequel comic finished today:

@EliasToufexis: #StarTrek & game fans!
I've already unabashedly bragged about how I play a big character in #StarTrekDiscovery's upcoming season. I've been cleared to say that I also play a character in the new @TrekResurgence game. A different character. #AllStarTrek for me baby! Meet Galvan

The graphics on the bottom screen grab are a visible improvement, good to hear it’s still going ahead.

The prequel comic book didn't do much except
show yet another warp experiment failure, follow up on an episode of TNG with the one shot character Jono, and a sacrifice by an officer that your player character will presumably be replacing in the game. The captain seems to be a moron going by the comic and Dr. Leah Brahms is shown to be an amoral mad scientist type, who interestingly still hasn't had her TNG husband mentioned at all. Even if she's somehow single now, going by this comic Geordi should not only still steer clear of her, he should transwarp as far away from her as possible and never look back.

I was hoping that at least this comic would explain how the ships in Star Trek Prodigy suddenly are much faster and can go to the Delta Quadrant, but it didn't even do that.

I don't think the video game has any ties to Prodigy. And prodigy had the explanation, "Because it's a new engine."
