I don't see how you could possibly think that when the obvious answer is really that it's Liquidator Brunt! But it's actually Jeffrey Combs playing Liquidator Brunt, but he's been surgically altered to look like Weyoun, to fool the changelings that it is indeed not, Jeffrey Coombs.Bashir's dad it is! (And I've just realised the actor was only 13 years older than Alexander Siddig!).
TrekCore said:But my goodness, the one character who does return [in the first 6 episodes] is magnificent, absolutely capturing a whole episode with incredible scenes with some key TNG cast members.
RollingStone said:The new season’s fifth episode, which brings back a recurring player from Nineties Trek, is especially satisfying in how it forces Jean-Luc to revisit decisions we saw him and others make way back when. As outstanding as Stewart was at playing this older, frailer Picard in the first two seasons, he seems even stronger getting to spar with so many of his old scene partners.
Don't know if this has been posted or not. It could be a major spoiler or just pure fan speculation but just to be safe...
Vadic is an acronym for Vulcan, Andorian, Dominion, Illyrian and Cardassian. Vadic was genetically engineered by the rogue changelings with Vulcan, Andorian, Dominion, Illyrian and Cardassian DNA to make the perfect enemy against the Federation. If true, it might explain Vadic's behavior in ep 2. It could be a form of madness from the genetic engineering of so many different species. It also fits with Terry saying that we will sympathize with Vadic when we learn more about her. Maybe originally "Vadic" was living a quiet and peaceful life and the rogue changelings took her against her will and genetically engineered her to make her into a weapon. That would certainly make her sympathetic to the audience. It also seems to fit with the theory that the rogue changelings stole Lore and Moriarty as part of their plan of revenge against the Federation. So maybe they stole Lore, Moriarty and genetically engineered Vadic from some Alpha quadrant species as a trio of enemies to take down the Federation.
Then why is she smoking?Honestly the simplest explanation is that Vadic is the Female Changeling recast.
Wasn't Cristobal Rios smoking a holographic cigar on a Starfleet bridge last season? Then why is she smoking?
And? He's human, she isn't.Wasn't Cristobal Rios smoking a holographic cigar on a Starfleet bridge last season?
It's sort of like Oh wearing sunglasses in Season 1 despite her Romulan/Vulcan eyesight having secondary eyelid etc.. Some villains just do things to unnerve their opponents. And? He's human, she isn't.
Jeez, just imagine if the actor appears at the end of episode 4 and it’s Brooks that steps out. Yeah yeah, I know…
Picard (in the brig): You came here to gloat?Description for Episode 5
Caught by Starfleet and facing court martial, paranoia grows as Picard struggles to uncover whether a prodigal crewman from his past has returned as an ally or an enemy hellbent on destroying them all.
The only person I can think of that has any connection to Picard and was a DS9 crew member is O'Brien.
unsure what reason he would have to return and create havoc unless shappened that we have not been informed about.
Never even thought about O’Brien, he’d fit the “recurring but also DS9” criteria.
Re: Tasha Yar, I’m pretty sure Matalas’s comment about there being a “nod” to Tasha is going to be just that, a nod. Maybe there’s a Yar wing at the museum or something.
The Prodigal Crewman angle is screaming Lieutenant Ro.
