Seven has neve been a Starfleet officer before now. Even when working on Voyager she was constantly disobeying orders, talking back, doing things that would get a normal officer reprimanded or even kicked out.

She needs a few more years under her belt before she can be a Captain.

this is probably the exact reason she was placed under the command of a by the book hardass like Shaw. Janeway gave her lots of leeway. Shaw doesn’t.


As for Kirk, I doubt he jumped from Lieutenant to Captain. I’m sure he was at the very least a Lt. Commander/Commander and first officer somewhere before being handed the keys to a ship like the Enterprise. Then again, we don’t know. His career pre-Enterprise is largely unexplored.

the thing is, if they do a Seven/Titan show (and I still don’t think it’s likely they will) she doesn’t have to be the Captain. Lower Decks is excellent and the main characters are all ensigns in hallway bunk beds.

Trying that on Disco didn’t work because the Captains (Georgiou, Lorca, Pike and Saru) were better characters than Burnham.

I sure hope not. I actually would not mind Shaw, or Rios, or another character of some kind being the captain. Discovery was tops when Burnham wasn't the captain. Now that she is the interest for me wanes a bit. Still better than Picard but still...captain does not mean "good."

Mister Roberts is a good example but I think in the end we are gonna end up liking Shaw weather he survives or not.

well sure. And to be clear, I have no issues with Raffi like some do. I just don’t think if there were to be a Seven/Titan show, Raffi would have to be there.

I mean, maybe? Raffi could easily move to a Starfleet Intelligence/Section 31 show as well, which I would welcome.

Well she's still Seven's girlfriend as far as we know. I don't count that line in Episode 1, she could have been lying as part of her cover. I'll wait until it's actually said by Seven or Raffi when she isn't undercover.
