Things that frustrate us all

"Cocaine Bear"? REALLY? :guffaw:

And don't give me that "based on a true story" crap. The real bear DIED right after eating the coke. The only human casualty was a parachute accident!

Not really on topic but does anyone here have experience with crypto? I never did it, even when it first started, but it always confused the hell out of me.

That's the whole point of the con. To confuse people, make them think they're going to see huge returns, whereas IRL they'll see sweet diddly squat.

PBS's Nova has pretty good explanation on it's Youtube page.

Supermarkets discontinuing some lower priced Store brands items in order to push the higher priced name brands.

Note to Corporates> Nope, :angryrazz: not buying them. There are other stores with their less expensive brands to choose from.

Really? It seems like it's the other way around in my area, with it getting harder to find the name brands, because the stores are all focusing on their store brands instead.

People who are always late.
My Niece and her husband are always late to family get togethers. Doesnt matter so much when its at someones house etc but to always run 15-20 mins late when you have a table booked in a restaurant is just rude in my opinion.

Its rude on the other diners in the party and also to the restaurant itself.

Basically by being late all the time is saying their time is more important than anyone elses.

People who are constantly late are constantly selfish and rude.

I'm pathologically early to everything.

When I fly, for example, I routinely show up at the airport 3 hours before my flight's due to leave. Even earlier, if I have to.

My sister is the exact opposite. She will think nothing of leaving for the airport (and yes, she has actually done this) 30 minutes before the flight!

I've run in to this with a local market. Unfortunately, their contracted suppliers had some factories shut down due to the pandemic and never got a new supplier. So, their store brand is limited. So, I'm shopping 5 stores depending.

This was from a long time ago, but at a YMCA I used to go to there was a senior citizen who would use the exercise bike and sweat out an entire lake. Then he would just move onto the next machine without wiping the machine down or puddles of sweat up! People would head over to use it, see the sweat and then steer clear of it.

Not a big deal but I washed some towels last night and forgot about them, so they've been sitting there for over 12 hours. Just started the wash cycle again.

I thought I had a sure-fire remedy for pushy salespeople who won't shut the fuck up about "Is there anything I can help you FIND?"

That remedy was, simply pull out a loaded revolver and say "If you ask me that one more fucking time, I will kill you."

Unfortunately, it is still a misdemeanor in many states to shoot a pushy sales clerk. :sigh:

srsly, what the fuck is their problem? If I wanted help finding something, I'd fucking ASK! Until that time, get out of my face! Comprende?

Unfortunately, I've been on both sides of this. One of the things about sales people is that they are all trained to be hyperware of theft. And the biggest deterrent of theft is helping out and frequent check ins. And, yes, I've pissed off customers for that. The other side is that managers get pissy at staff for standing around, and this is one of the slower times of year for retail, so staff are faced with either piss off the customer or piss off the manager. It's a no win situation.

And, yes, brandishing a firearm at a person is a misdemeanor in my state.

That part was a joke.

srsly, I'm sorry if you thought I was attacking you personally, I had no idea you were in this situation. :alienblush:

On a completely unrelated matter: There are potholes on the major street near my house, which appear to be deep enough to swim in.

No, it's fine. It's amazing the legal code stuff I recall from having to sell firearms. :)

Again, no offense taken. I just sympathize on both sides because I have worked both sides of that, both having to try and help a customer, and not wanting help as a customer. Despite this aversion I still prefer shopping in person to shopping online.

Yup. I am so done with winter, but the potholes are getting worse.
