Spoilers Star Trek: Picard General Discussion Thread

Thoughts:

1. Seven loves being a military officer. It's one of the few things she does well (she did it for eighteen years). She likes the structure and discipline.
2. She wants to do the right thing.
3. She full well knows that Shaw -- like Janeway -- has the power to consign her to the cargo bay on a whim (or God forbid, throw her out an airlock). She doesn't want to ruffle feathers.

Agree. Seven loves being in starfleet. She was practically giddy while ordering the Titan out of spacedock

12 MONKEYS main cast member Aaron Stanford will have a role in 302 according to Terry Matalas.

I wonder if Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo, Noah Bean, Emily Hampshire, or Barbara Sukowa might also show up soon...

There's been a few new spoilers from a rather chatty Matalas on Twitter and a new trailer
Assuming Matalas wasn't joking, he says that Picard and Riker apologize to Shaw for hijacking his ship and he accepts their apology.

Matalas tweeted a photo of actor Aaron Stanford (Pyro from the X-Men movies) saying he's in next week's Picard episode. Unclear is whether he'll have a rematch with Xavie--I mean, Picard and whether Picard will mentally freeze people around him again to minimize the damage done by Pyr--, er whoever Stanford's playing.

A new trailer shows Troi tearing into Riker for running off halfway across the galaxy the moment Picard gives him a call. Presumably this debunks 2 theories running around, that Riker is an impostor (if he were an impostor, Troi wouldn't have even noticed he was gone) and that Riker's line of Troi and Kestra not missing him was just a throwaway remark not hinting at marital problems (the tone of the scene shows not only are there problems, it seems pretty bad).

So this video highlights some interesting easter eggs from the first episode. Many of them obvious, some not.

According to a screen Raffi is looking at, the Enterprise-F is

UP FOR EARLY DECOMMISON!!! :wtf::wtf:

I really think, with the number of STO ships in Picard, that a memo came down to "Try" to respect some aspects of STO, so that people can still play the game, or if they update the game, it won't be a complete re write, ship wise.

Would be fun if they got Jeff Combs to play the Enterprise-F Captain, Va'Kel Shon.

Perhaps a descent of Shran.

Thrilled to finally see Enterprise-F in live action.

Just a thought ...

Could the bad guys possibly be Species-8472?

They did genetically modify themselves once already to appear human.

Problem is they wouldn't have a beef with Picard or the TNG crew. I think it's look most likely to be the "Conspiracy" aliens. I got a theory I don't like but I think RIker might have one of them inside of him. Maybe even Shaw.

They played Magic Carpet Ride at Target today, and the cashier was swaying to it, so I told her it's from my favorite Trek movie, and she said they were just talking about Trek earlier because of PIC S3, and that she had to record TOS for her dad back then, and she remembered that the song was played during the first warp flight. It's a good time to be a trekkie again :D
