Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

Indeed. They could probably restart the line on the ships sown in PIC S3 alone. Here's hoping MR does a well-enough job with a limited license to handle the legacy EM stock, they'll be given a full license to produce new things going forward. Probably take a year or two to square away the legal details, sadly. Going to be a long wait either way...

Why did they call the Titan’s shuttlebay ‘Shuttlebay 3’ when it looks like the ship only has one?
Based on the ventral view of the original model of the Shangri La that Bill built, there are two shuttered openings labeled "1" and "2" underneath the fantail. I would have personally numbered the main bay "1" and the others "2" and "3", but I didn't build it, so... :)

Those feel more like cargo bays, unless they've started dropping shuttlepods out like the NX-01 did. No decent underside shots of the Titan A yet, to see if the doors made it.

I would agree. There doesn't appear to be that much room for full-sized shuttles there. Since the Neo-Connie appears to be an homage/reboot of the original Shangri La-class, I predict (when ventral views do emerge of the Titan-A) those same doors also exist and are numbered similarly, explaining the "3" on the main doors.

Seems odd to have two drop-down doors right underneath the main shuttlebay. I agree that they seem better suited for cargo, but if that’s the case, why not just use the main door for that?

Dunno. Perhaps dedicated cargo loading doors won't bottleneck the main shuttlebay while replenishing supplies in dock?

I suppose you could always IM Bill. He's still on the board, so far as I know. Although, when the first pictures of the Titan-A started emerging, some of the comments elsewhere on the board from arguably less-talented individuals were less-than-polite; he saw it and I'm guessing hadn't returned. Bona-fide (and politely-worded) questions about certain aesthetic design choices may induce him to interact with us.

Correct.

Perhaps Picard & Riker purposely dropped out of one of the secondary bays to avoid the almost immediate lock down that Captain Shaw ordered?
