What if Q explored the Mirror Universe

Q is one of my favorite antagonist on TNG. He is an extra-dimensional being of unknown origin who possesses immeasurable power over time, space, the laws of physics, and reality itself, being capable of altering it to his whim. I was always intrigued of his motivations for his particular episode and for me the meaning of the story in what he conjured up. I was wondering how impactful Q could have been if he invaded or was somehow trapped in the Mirror Universe?

One probability is he could get punched in the face or be constantly shot at by TNG Mirror counterparts as he keeps popping up, but what kind of influence, or lack their of, if he encountered these people? Q may actually discover some dimensions within these one note characters if he had time to ponder that world.

Any thoughts?

I think Q can actually travel to mirror universe, but they didn't find it interesting. They were punched in the face once or twice, shot, trown from the nearest airlock, etc. but soon Q became bored of the same reaction, and returned to Picard

Actually think it's possible that the MU was first created by Q to test Kirk and his crew, without revealing himself

It being around before this time and earlier and later interactions between the universes like with Burnham or in DS9 may or may not have been important for him too.

Q, as the zeitgeist of audiences, probably finds the mirror universe boring after a few forays. He seems more interested in pointing out hypocrisy and antagonizing (just to get a hug) people who have real potential. Doesn't seem like he'd find much of use in that timeline.

OR the known Q may be from mirror universe. Long time ago, before entering the Q continuum, there were able to be different "types", races of Q (maybe from ancient Q-federaion, Q-empire?), including ones who's origin is MU. This would explain lots of things in the Q's behavour...

Potentially aiming to destroy humanity through 'friendly' actions, always immediately revealing his true motive, always boring and predictable?

Since Q is from unknown origin, I don't think it would be possible to have a "Mirror" Q.

Q probably doesn't do anything... finds it too amusing to watch the K-C Alliance and the Terran Empire (which the Rebellion will attempt to resurrect) pound each other. Like watching a cockfighting event.

I was wondering if there was a Borg in that universe would Q give them the same warning as he did for Picard? Its hard to imagine a Borg that wasn't threatening in any universe; I guess they could be reversed in agenda. I'm sure Q would want to see that universe have a fighting chance to save whatever was worth in that universe.

Think he wouldn't care at all about what happened to either the Mirror Borg or all other species in that universe. Otherwise he probably would have somehow prevented humanity getting enslaved by the Alliance.

But on the other side, he may have thought it necessary for a better future for all species in this universe.

I think we should avoid questions about Q and the Mirror Universe to be honest. I mean is there another Q in that reality? Have they met? Why would he go there? How does it fit into what we know about the creation of parallel universes? Too much jelly and ice cream for me to contemplate.

(Agreed, this doesn't actually seem to be the case, since humans apparently can still surprise him).

One, that confuses omniscient with omnipotent. Two, the Q might identify themselves as being omnipotent, but they actually aren't (they're pretty darn powerful, though).

Hopefully this is not too much offtopic....
But sometimes I think most if not all of Q's "magic" could be explained with really advanced technology.
Perhaps Q as a species isn't omnipotent but few billion years ahead of us in tech and can do what they want with advanced technology.
And usually they do what they want.

To quote Asimov "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".

"Our" Q claims the Q were always there, from the beginning of the universe.
Quinn talks about 'the new era' when they became omniscient.

Both accounts need not be contradictory. They could have been an ordinary species, then reached the new age of near-omniscience and near-omnipotence Quinn talks about, and then establish their presence from before the beginning of time.

Q also says they're omnipotent, which Quinn also denies. He draws the comparison between the Federation and a technologically much less advanced species, how they must appear incredibly powerful to them, like the Q do to the Federation.

It would be interesting to speculate. One of my favorite examples of phenomenal Q power is "Death Wish", when Quinn makes all the men on Voyager disappear. Then Q shows up and, with a snap of his fingers, brings them all back. This wasn't like zapping up a couple of fantasy women or a flamenco band, he was bringing back specific individuals he had never met, complete with personalities, appearances, and outfits. That at least backs up the probability that they didn't cease to exist, they were just suspended somewhere... if Q had known beforehand what Chuckles looked like, the tattoo would not have surprised him.

Maybe, to borrow an analogy from another franchise, it's like a program and magic. Q didn't know anything about what Quinn had done necessarily, but was able to hit "Ctrl-Undo" in the programming of the universe.
