That alone is hilarious...a counterculture icon like Easy Rider remade by a CONSORTIUM. :guffaw:

Now I'm hearing talk of TWO MORE Yellowstone prequels (one set in the forties, the other the sixties).

I realize how much of a cash cow this show is but come on. It's kinda getting ridiculous.

Meh, when there's a Yellowstone sequel set in the 2050s, then it will be ridiculous.

No. When it is Yellowstone set on Mars. That's when it becomes ridiculous. Cowboybot rolls out of Yellowstone replica farmhouse based on old earth version, and finds the perfect spot to stare at the huge red vista . "Boop Beep Boop " in low whisper of a voice. Puts neon cowboy hat on. "Must activate protection subroutines to make sure evil corporatebots don't take this land and turn it into robot hotel."

The Jarrell TX event was worse:
    https://www.wunderground.com/cat6/twenty-years-look-back-jarrell-tornado-catastrophe

—-a very strange storm that killed hundreds of cattle—that came out of the northeast at walking speed. Unnatural…

Speaking of strange…entities ”made all of squirming ropes” and “rushing, airy presences…the winds gibber with Their voices…they rushed foetid and horrible through the glens…circling piping flutes…in the black spiral vortices of that ultimate void…”

    Quite real-
    https://stormtrack.org/community/threads/tornadoes-with-tentacle-like-external-vortices.24624/

    That’s how you do Twister—-you DON’T do Twister—you do THE DUNWICH HORROR…

Whateley is a weatherman…the red truck with storm chasers fear this man…they come upon a town where the populace stand outside unable to move …out of this scene:
    https://www.wikiart.org/en/richard-oelze/the-expectation-1936

    But they are crying…unable to move—as Whateley…in a field…is surrounded by these:
    https://weather.com/storms/severe/video/surveillance-cameras-capture-alabama-tornado

And Tuesday is another severe weather day.
It is 63 degrees at 4:27 AM…on January 2…and the winds will come.

In more pleasant news—Holmes for all

That's one way to make a stealth adaptation of Robinson's Mars Trilogy.

I think I would watch anything dealing with Cowboys or even any old world ideas coming into clash with modern tech or sensibilities. Lots of drama in the idea and it also helps make something that is both nostalgic but also with something to say about modern times.

Kind of like Cowboys & Aliens. I found that to be a fun movie despite its flaws.

I can't remember the name of the show but there was one that did exactly this, where the railroad came into town and it was a big adjustment from the older way of doing things to having the newer technology. Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman had some themes like that but not always.

They have to fight the Federation to keep the ranch. It's Paramount, they can make it happen.

Which was? I'm rewatching it now (haven't seen it since it was first on) and its doesn't "seem" like it's over doing it beyond usual 70s jokes/tropes but I have no basis for comparison.

If ever they really do get the itch to put Gibson & Glover back into a last Lethal Weapon, then I won't accept anything less than it going back to the seriousness that the 1st film had, by Riggs somehow getting Murtaugh killed some ways into the story, (Because well he REALLY is too old for this shit), & then going on a rampage outside the law, to violently & brutally avenge it, which should leave him outlawed himself after he succeeds, being chased down by the law, when he ultimately finds, among Roger's belongings, the lone suicide bullet he gave to Roger at the end of the 1st film, (Still wrapped in its Christmas bow) and realizing the only thing left for him to do is finally use it, because there's no reason not to anymore. This is how you close that tale. The days of jokes & mock heroism is over. Holy shit, I'd watch TF out of that movie.
