I thought the pulse phasers are right next to the bussard collectors on that front wall of the nacelle.

I used to think the same thing, there's that little pair of cylinders on the flat front face, with the big box in between. But, no, it's the big pair of greebles on the edge of the nacelle where it meets the "saucer," one above and one below. I know some people have thought it was both, I'm sure I've seen fan art with four pairs of phaser-pulses in olden-times.

Those two identical disc things look like hubcap parts from a ‘82 Pontiac Trans Am kit.

I've been kind of amused to note that both the modern DS9 tech book and the EM volume on modern Federation designs both seem to think the Defiant has a torpedo launcher in the nacelle cowlings as well, even though I'm a bit skeptical of that. In looking over both volumes recently, I've noticed the DS9 book has two aft torpedo launchers in the cowling behind the small impulse engine holes, while the EM book has these further back on the tail. This would seem to be a correction of the layout implied in the original DS9 TM, which assumed the holes were torpedo tubes and that the tail had a more stealthy sort of impulse drive mounted in it.

The DS9 book also suggests there are standard phasers in the triangular pods that house the forward quantum/photon torpedo launchers, which made me wonder if perhaps these triangles might be a specific type of weapons package. We never saw phasers firing from them, but we did see the Defiant using a standard phaser against the Lakota that seemed to be somewhere forward of the bridge, even though the model has nothing in that location. So for myself, I could certainly picture the triangles as being pods that have both phasers and torpedoes in them.

I got to agree, it makes no logical sense to change the lighting on the Warp Nacelles, Deflector Dish.

Sure change the lighting on the rooms, but the Warp Nacelles, Deflector Dish, Impulse Exhaust all have specific functions.

There really should be no reason to change the lighting on those, even if the ship is being taken over.

It's Artistic Aesthetic over-riding logic.

And why are the Phasers Red now?
Phasers have gone from Blue -> Orange -> Red.

Also the Sovereign model is missing the Impulse Exhausts in some shots.

And the Dauntless firing Phasers out of it's RCS units.

Every Window on the Ship changing their lights to "All RED" should've been enough.

Going after systems on the ship that shouldn't be changing, well that's just going too far; while breaking basic in-universe logic for the sake of dumbing it down for kids.

Which wasn't necessary IMO. But hey, that's the decision that the creative staff made, so we're stuck with it.

I think you’re grossly underestimating just how smart kids are. This show doesn’t ‘dumb things down for kids’ in the least. It’s intelligently written and voice-acted, and some of its concepts could even go over an adult’s head. This is by no means Star Trek: Blue’s Clues.

I mean, I don't know about that. One of the things that Trek does when a virus takes over starships is show unrelated systems are impacted that are unrelated, yet indicative of the corruption. So, it might be a safeguard to aid in takeover identification by rogue AI, which Starfleet unfortunately struggles with defending against. Even from it's own assets or officers.

Phasers have been red before...

Since Phasers generally change color over time.
Could we theoretically link the color of the Phasers with the Visible Color Spectrum Frequency.

When Data was changing the frequency of the Phasers against the Borg, the colors did change rapidly.

In the past, the colors went from Blue > Red > Orange > ?
Who knows what it could be in the future. The entire Visible Color Spectrum Frequency is available.

The visual effect of the standard beam of a Starfleet hand phaser has been depicted in The Original Series sometimes as a red beam, in "The Changeling" for example, a blue beam in "The Galileo Seven", or a green beam such as in the "Wink of an Eye"; in some episodes there was no visual beam at all, only the impact on the target that gave off a blast of light such as in "Whom Gods Destroy". Later on, in TNG: "The Best of Both Worlds", it was established that the color of the beam depended on the resonance frequency the phaser was tuned on. From TNG onwards, Starfleet phaser beams were depicted almost exclusively as orange-red in color.

That means if we tune the frequency range or modulation, we can change the color of the beams to be whatever we want =D.

I know, that means the end user can tune phasers to whatever frequency they want since it seems to have some correlation to the visible color portion of the EM Spectrum.

I wonder if we can tune it to frequencies that are closer to IR or UV or even Microwaves.

Effectively making the beams "Invisible" if we have to =D.

Memory Alpha (citing the credits) calls Chakotay’s XO Adreek-Hu an Aurelian, and his lack of wings has twitter atwitter with the notion that Counselor Migleemo and his Meemaw are also Aurelian.

I do not believe they are, but it would at least be an answer to the one question that I NEED to know.
